How wonderful to celebrate our own Tom Vincent who served our country during Vietnam. Thank you, Tom, for your life of faithful service... to your country and to your faith community. May God bless you for all that you do.
This Memorial Day, the Upper Room Dining Hall would like to honor one of our beloved volunteers, Tom Vincent.
Tom has faithfully volunteered with the Upper Room for the past 3 years and has become a valued and familiar part of our community each week. His kindness, dedication, and steady presence have impacted so many of our guests and fellow volunteers.
Before serving our community here at home, Tom served our country. Tom was drafted into the Army during the Kennedy administration and spent 2 years stationed in Korea, where he was responsible for guarding the military compound. One of his favorite memories from his time there was seeing Bob Hope perform in person for the troops.
On this Memorial Day, Tom shared these words with us:
“So many people have put their lives on the line for this country. I’m just happy to be in the USA. So many have sacrificed so much, and some have sacrificed everything.”
Today we honor and remember those who gave everything in service to our country, and we thank veterans like Tom for their service, sacrifice, and continued commitment to others.
Happy Memorial Day from all of us at the Upper Room. 🇺🇸
