Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ-
This week I was pleased to attend our communion's synod in Ohio with our brother bishops and some of the other clergy from around the communion as well. We discussed a variety of topics, ranging from liturgical texts to church structural necessities; and I am most pleased with the outcome of our gathering. It was a chance for all of us to reaffirm our commitment to a common cause of building the kingdom of God; and to a wider commitment of unity among the various liturgical traditions which we find in our Anglican history. Our communion is a beautiful tapestry, woven with stories and souls from every walk of life and every imaginable gift; which expresses the richness of our faith and the dedication of those involved in building up our church. As the Archbishop of this diocese, I am proud to stand alongside my brother bishops and our Presiding Archbishop in our work of rebuilding Christendom; until all mankind shall be one family, one spirit in Christ: who shall have the honor and glory, throughout all ages.
*I would like to express my personal and professional gratitude to Canon Shannon Ramey for hosting and graciously shepherding the synod's events, Archbishop Barton for gathering us all together in prayer and work, and also our own Abbot Shaw for accompanying me in representing our Diocese at the Synod. Please remember them, and all the clergy and people of both our Diocese and our Communion in your prayers.
