Greetings Beloved!

In our passage this week, Paul is exhorting God’s people to be a hope-filled people. Two ways the church can remain full of hope is by there being a healthy respect of its leaders and a participatory mentality among the body itself. Hope runs rampant when Christ is preeminent and everyone’s a participant. It is important for all of God’s people to remember that our place on team Jesus is not on the bench but in the game. Each one of us has an awesome role to play in God’s kingdom. What work is God calling you to be a part of this year? How can you use your time, talents, and treasure for the work of Lord? It is important work. Let us not neglect it.

Blessings,
Pastor Chris

Greetings Church!

As we continue our series about Hope, we can rejoice knowing that God is concerned about our lives because He is an involved God. Far from being a “clockmaker” God, who designs the universe and then lets it operate on its own, our God is actively involved with our lives and sees us in our times of trouble. When it comes to God’s rules that He gives His followers, especially in the realm of immorality, it is always about the people, not the actions. The spouse being cheated on is someone that God loves. The person being abused is someone who bears the Image of their Creator. The person being affected by your choices and dysfunction, is someone for whom Christ has died. Look no further than the story of Hagar - a slave woman, used and abused, only to be kicked out from her community and left to die in the wilderness. And yet, in her time of hopelessness and hurt, God sees her and reminds her that He is with her. And this type of involved God is the reason that we can have Hope.

Tenacious! What a character quality. We could all be more tenacious in our faith. Unfortunately, we give up way too easily. Circumstances become difficult. People disappoint us. We tend to throw in the towel before the bell rings. Instead, let’s commit to one another and to God to stay true to Him and His church through thick and thin. Christ our hope makes this more than possible. - Pastor Dana

Greetings Beloved!

What keeps us holding on to hope? We hold on if we know our investment is good. As Christians, we know that real hope is found in the person of Jesus Christ. Not every season we are asked to walk through is going to be an easy one. Yet, in both the good and the hard, we can hold fast because we can be certain that the investment we’ve made by our faith in Christ is a good one. In him we will never be put to shame. Therefore, beloved, walk worthy, receive his truth, and keep imitating the faithful. A hope-filled community is a powerful testimony of the worthiness of the One who calls us into his own kingdom and glory.

Blessings,
Pastor Chris
