Greetings Church!
As we continue our series about Hope, we can rejoice knowing that God is concerned about our lives because He is an involved God. Far from being a “clockmaker” God, who designs the universe and then lets it operate on its own, our God is actively involved with our lives and sees us in our times of trouble. When it comes to God’s rules that He gives His followers, especially in the realm of immorality, it is always about the people, not the actions. The spouse being cheated on is someone that God loves. The person being abused is someone who bears the Image of their Creator. The person being affected by your choices and dysfunction, is someone for whom Christ has died. Look no further than the story of Hagar - a slave woman, used and abused, only to be kicked out from her community and left to die in the wilderness. And yet, in her time of hopelessness and hurt, God sees her and reminds her that He is with her. And this type of involved God is the reason that we can have Hope.
