Let us consider our priorities as a Christian. As we follow a Gregorian calendar in comparison to the Hebrew calendar. Because the Hebrew calendar is lunisolar and the Gregorian calendar is purely solar, their dates drift relative to one another. Countless Gregorian dates, secular holidays, and seasonal celebrations fall in between various Jewish feasts throughout the year, depending on the exact year's alignment.A few prominent Gregorian milestones that regularly fall between major Hebrew holidays include:Memorial Day (USA): Often falls between the spring holidays of Passover/Yom HaAtzmaut and Shavuot.Independence Day (USA): As you noted, the 4th of July frequently falls between the culmination of the spring feasts and the somber fast of Tisha B'Av (observed in July).Labor Day (USA): Typically occurs in early September, just before the High Holy Days (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) begin. How the Calendars Overlap Passover (Pesach) usually falls in March or April.Shavuot (Feast of Weeks) occurs exactly 50 days after Passover, usually in May or early June.Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) cluster in September or October.Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) occurs shortly after Yom Kippur.Because of this structure, the entire summer season (roughly late June through August) on the Gregorian calendar sits in the gap between the major spring pilgrimage festivals and the intense fall High Holy Days. We should become familiar not only in these feasts but educate, participate and celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has fulfilled each of these feasts. Let us prioritize Him as the center of our lives!
