Did you know we have a movie star working at the Museum?🎬 Isaac Simon, our Internship Programs Manager, is featured in Josh Safdie’s new film, “Marty Supreme”! Isaac plays Roger, an amateur table tennis player who gets hustled by Timothée Chalamet’s character Marty Ma**er. In the photo above, Isaac sports an MJH pin at the movie’s premiere!

Isaac was interviewed by The Forward about how, having no prior acting experience or desire to be in films, he was scouted by a casting director and subsequently asked to audition for the movie. Isaac reflected on how his job at the Museum helped develop the skills that would make him shine onscreen: “Because teaching is a performance, there is sort of an inherent performative quality to the work I do [training Holocaust educators and leading tours]… And so I think that that lent itself well — or at the very least, it didn’t hurt — to the work I was being asked to do for Josh [Safdie].”

Isaac also discusses how his passion for Holocaust education makes his role in this movie all the more meaningful for him. We at the Museum are very proud of him!
