Pittsburgh Meditation Circle

Pittsburgh Meditation Circle The Pittsburgh Meditation Circle is the local group of Self-Realization Fellowship, a non-profit religious organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda

We extend a warm welcome to join us in our search for God. Our Kriya Yoga path is based in practice and experience and not on belief and dogma. As such, its teachings and practices can benefit followers of all religions and those who follow no religion. Our meditation circle got its start in 1973 when a few truth-seekers began meditating together in their Pittsburgh homes. With the guidance of Sel

f-Realization Fellowship (SRF), the circle has grown, and now devotees from all over the region gather weekly to meditate and learn the way to commune with God. Our circle was not the first SRF group to be formed in Pittsburgh. Paramahansa Yogananda himself initiated the “Pittsburgh Center” during visits to Pittsburgh in 1926 when he gave lectures and classes at Soldiers and Sailors Hall. In 1927 he returned to Pittsburgh and held a meditation with the devotees.
