What if healing begins with letting God clean house? 🧹❤️‍🩹

In Ezekiel 6, God calls His people to recognize what has drawn them away from Him and to return. There is a powerful connection here to the healing we experience through Confession—allowing the Lord to cleanse what has become disordered in our hearts and restore us to communion with Him.

Sin scatters. Grace gathers.
Sin divides. Christ unites.
Sin leaves us wandering. Jesus calls us home.

Confession is not about shame; it is about returning. It is allowing God to clean what we cannot clean on our own, remove what keeps us from Him, and make room for His healing grace.

And notice what God does: He doesn't leave His people scattered. He calls them back. He gathers them to Himself.

Maybe today, the invitation is simple: Come home. Let Him clean house. Let Him heal what has been broken. Let Him gather you back into His heart. 🙏

Because sometimes healing doesn't look like God giving us a new life—it looks like Him restoring us to the life we were created for.

August Marian Prayer Series: A Heart Like Mary's

Week 3 (August 18) | A Heart That Serves

Scripture: "Mary set out and traveled... in haste." — Luke 1:39

After receiving Jesus, Mary immediately went to serve Elizabeth. A heart filled with Christ naturally pours itself out in love for others.

Prayer:
Immaculate Heart of Mary, fill my heart with the love of your Son. Help me notice those in need and serve them with joy, humility, and compassion. Amen.

Challenge:
Perform one hidden act of kindness today without expecting recognition.

Gospel Reflection — Sunday, August 16, 2026

Luke 12:49–53

“I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!”

Jesus’ words in today’s Gospel can feel startling. We often picture Christ as gentle and comforting—and He is. But the love of Jesus is not passive. It is a fire.

The fire Christ speaks of is the fire of a heart completely surrendered to God. It is the fire of the Holy Spirit that burns away what keeps us from Him and awakens within us a deeper desire for holiness.

And fire spreads.

When we truly allow Christ to change us, that transformation cannot remain hidden. It begins to affect the way we speak, the way we love, the way we forgive, the way we spend our time, and the choices we make. Following Jesus may even create tension in our relationships when the Gospel asks us to choose truth over comfort.

Jesus is not calling us to create division for division’s sake. He is reminding us that discipleship demands a decision.

We cannot encounter the living Christ and remain exactly as we were.

Perhaps the question for us this week is simple:

Where has the fire of Christ grown dim in my heart?

Maybe it is in our prayer life. Maybe it is in our relationships. Maybe we have grown comfortable in our faith, going through the motions without allowing God to truly transform us.

Today, ask the Lord to rekindle that fire.

Let Him burn away complacency. Let Him ignite courage. Let Him awaken a love for Him that is impossible to contain.

Because the world does not need Christians who merely believe in Jesus.

It needs disciples who are burning with His love.

God rarely asks us to do extraordinary things. More often, He asks us to be faithful in the ordinary.

A kind word. A quiet prayer. An act of forgiveness. A moment of patience. Small acts, offered with great love, become the building blocks of holiness.

Today, ask the Lord to help you love well in the little moments. They may seem small to the world, but they are never small to Him. ❤️

August Marian Prayer Series: A Heart Like Mary's

Week 2 (August 11) | A Heart That Trusts

Scripture: "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." — Luke 1:38

Mary's "yes" changed history because she trusted God, even without knowing the whole plan. She reminds us that faith means saying yes before we have all the answers.

Prayer:
Immaculate Heart of Mary, strengthen my trust in God's plan. Help me surrender my fears and confidently say yes to His will each day. Amen.

Challenge:

Gospel Reflection – Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (August 9, 2026)

Gospel: Matthew 14:22–33

Storms have a way of revealing where our trust truly lies.

After witnessing the miracle of the loaves, the disciples soon find themselves battling wind and waves. It is a reminder that yesterday's miracle does not exempt us from today's trial. Yet in the midst of their fear, Jesus comes to them and says, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Before He calms the storm, He first offers them His presence.

Peter boldly steps out of the boat, but when he shifts his focus from Jesus to the wind, he begins to sink. How often do we do the same? We begin with faith, but our worries and fears draw our eyes away from Christ.

The beautiful hope of this Gospel is that Jesus immediately reaches out His hand. Peter simply cries, "Lord, save me!"—and Jesus does. God never abandons those who call upon Him.

This week, whatever storms you may be facing, keep your eyes fixed on Christ. His presence is greater than the waves, His peace is stronger than fear, and His hand is always extended toward you. Trust Him enough to step out in faith, knowing He will never let you sink beyond His reach.

The closer we grow to Mary, the closer she leads us to her Son. Every devotion to her Immaculate Heart is an invitation to love Jesus more deeply, trust Him more completely, and follow Him more faithfully. Mary's heart never keeps us for herself—it always points us to Christ.
