The room went cold with silence. I carry Narcan, not for me, but for my mom. I found her blue on the bathroom floor, saved her life, then went to math class. The teacher paused, seeing no one on their phones.

Vision statement: We envision a spiritually awakened world flowing with divine love
Mission statement: We are an inclusive, loving community dedicated to teach, inspire and practice positive spiritual living. Our Core Values: The Five Unity Principles: 1.God is the source and creator of all. There is no other enduring power. God is good and present everywhere. 2. We are spiritual beings, created in God’s image. The spirit of God lives within each person; therefore, all people are inherently good. 3.We create our life experiences through our way of thinking. 4.There is power in affirmative prayer, which we believe increases our awareness of God. 5.Knowledge of these spiritual principles is not enough. We must live them. Unity of Pittsburgh Core Outcomes: •We assist others to lead full, prosperous, joyful lives •We love and support each other in positive ways •We see the good and the God in each other •We develop and fully express the Christ consciousness of unconditional love Board and Staff Core Values: •We are kind, positive, supportive leaders. •We incorporate the 5 Unity Principles into our every-day expression. •We joyfully fulfill our responsibilities to the creation of our center Unity History: The Unity movement was founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in 1889 as a healing ministry based on “new thought” studies on the power of prayer and the power of our thoughts to create our own reality. The Fillmores, who studied with Dr. E.B. Weeks, regarded Jesus as the example rather than the exception; interpreted the Bible metaphysically; and taught that God is present within all of us.
