Mike Came For A Meal. He Found People Who Stayed.

Mike first came to Outreached Arms 16 years ago hungry, homeless, and hopeless.

He needed food. He also needed people who would see him, know him, and walk with him over time.

Our team supported him as he worked toward housing, organized his finances, and took difficult next steps.

Today, Mike faithfully serves others as a volunteer. He was never a project. He was a person worth knowing. His story reminds us why a meal matters, mentoring matters, and faithful presence matters.

Tuesdays are more than just a meal!

A meal meets an immediate need.

At Outreached Arms, we learn names.

Outreached Arms is looking for faith-filled leaders who want to use their time, talents, and treasures to serve people experiencing homelessness, hunger, and hardship.

We currently have four volunteer board leadership opportunities:

• Fundraising and Development
• Nonprofit Finance and Accounting
• Marketing, Social Media and Communications
• Volunteer Engagement

You do not need to fit every role. We want you to serve in the area that best fits your experience, relationships, gifts, and heart for others.

Your leadership will help us strengthen the ministry, support our volunteers, steward our resources, reach new partners, and serve our guests with dignity and the hope of Christ.

If you feel God leading you to use your experience for a greater purpose, we would love to start a conversation.

What an incredible day of serving.

A huge thank you to the youth from The Bible Chapel for spending your day with us at Outreached Arms. Your willingness to jump in wherever help was needed made a real difference.

Together you:
• Wrapped hundreds of plasticware bundles for our weekly meals.

• Wrote encouraging notes for our Zach Packs to remind children they are loved and valued.

• Sorted backpacks so they are ready for students who need them.

• Organized and cleaned our Essentials Room, making it easier to serve our guests with dignity.

• Served with joyful hearts and encouraged one another all day long.

Service is more than getting work done. It is showing the love of Christ through action. Every backpack organized, every encouraging note written, and every item prepared will impact someone who needs hope.

Thank you for giving your time, your energy, and your hearts. We are grateful for each of you and for The Bible Chapel’s commitment to serving our community.

We pray God continues to grow your faith as you keep living out His call to love and serve others.

Some days, the biggest victories happen behind the scenes.

A huge thank you to the incredible team from True North Church for spending part of your day serving with Outreached Arms.

You tackled one of the biggest projects we had waiting for us by organizing our food storage cage. It had turned into quite a challenge, and because of your hard work, everything is organized, easy to find, and ready to serve our guests.

Your willingness to jump in and work wherever the need was made a real difference. Every shelf you organized and every box you sorted helps us serve our community more efficiently each week.

We are *SO GRATEFUL* for your hearts to serve. Thank you for choosing to spend your time making an impact.

Each week, we serve our neighbors experiencing homelessness with a hot meal, encouragement, prayer, and genuine care. Your presence matters.

✅ Backstage pass secured. 🤣🤣

Channeling my best Wayne’s World energy. “We’re not worthy… we’re not worthy” while showing off this badge like I am TOTALLY worthy. 🙌

God took us from spectator to “course vehicle access.” I’m one headset away from directing traffic and rubbing elbows with the marathon workers.

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of something bigger than the race. Huge thank you to 412 Food Rescue and DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon for partnering with us.
