🌅 He Is Risen! Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Today we celebrate the truth that changed everything…
Jesus is alive.

On Good Friday, we remembered the sacrifice.
Jesus, fully God and fully man, gave His life for us.
He carried the weight of our sin, our mistakes, our brokenness… and He chose the cross anyway.

But death didn’t win.
The grave couldn’t hold Him.
He said He would rise and He did.

That resurrection is more than a moment in history…
It is proof that Jesus is who He said He is.
It is evidence that God keeps His word.
It is the power that reminds us that nothing is ever too far gone.

Because of Jesus:
✨ The veil has been torn
✨ We now have direct access to God
✨ We are forgiven, loved, and made new

For our children, our youth, and anyone just starting their journey…
Here’s what Easter means in a simple way:

God loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us.
Jesus died for us, but He didn’t stay dead.
He rose again so we could have new life.

And that means:
No matter who you are
No matter what you’ve done
No matter how you feel

You can begin again.

Today isn’t just about Easter eggs and springtime…
It’s about new life in Christ 🌱

So we celebrate.
We rejoice.
And we remember…

He is risen indeed. ❤️

🕊️ Holy Week Reflection | Good Friday
Mount Ararat Baptist Church – Youth Ministry

As we walk through Holy Week together, we pause at Good Friday, a day that carries both sorrow and deep, unshakable love.

Good Friday reminds us that Jesus was arrested, beaten, and crucified on the cross… not because He had to, but because He chose to. He chose us.

For our young people, this moment in the story of Jesus is heavy, but it’s also where we see the heart of God most clearly:

👉 Jesus saw every mistake, every struggle, every moment we would fall short…
👉 And still said, “I’ll take their place.”

The cross wasn’t the end—it was the sacrifice that made a way for us to be forgiven, restored, and connected to God.

💭 Family Reflection Questions:

What does it mean that Jesus died for you?
How does His love shape the way we live and treat others?
What are you thankful for today because of Jesus?

❤️ Here at Mount Ararat, our prayer is that every young person knows this truth:
You are deeply loved. You are covered by grace. And your life has purpose—because of Jesus.

Today, we sit in the weight of the cross…
But we hold onto hope.

Sunday is coming. 🙌🏾

🔥 This Week in Middle & High School Sunday School 🔥

This week, our students explored a powerful truth from the book of Exodus—
God desires to be close to His people.

We learned about the Tabernacle ⛺️—a sacred, portable place where God’s presence dwelled among the Israelites. When it was completed, God’s glory filled it, showing His approval and His desire to be near His people 🙌🏽

We also dove into the priesthood—those set apart to guide, teach, and help people connect with God through worship and sacrifice.

💡 Big Takeaway:
God made a way for His people to approach Him then…
—and He STILL makes a way for us today.

📖 Through Jesus, we don’t need a tent or a priest—
we can come to God anytime, anywhere 💛

💬 Conversation Starter:
Ask your student: “What does it mean to truly be in God’s presence?”

Let’s continue to encourage our youth to not just learn about God…
but to experience Him personally 🙏🏽✨

✨ This Week in Elementary Sunday School ✨

This week, our children are diving into the powerful story of Moses and God’s people building the Tabernacle ⛺️📖

Through hands-on activities, music, and meaningful conversation, they are learning something special…

💛 God desires a place with His people—but we can worship Him anywhere, anytime!

📚 This Week’s Bible Focus:
• Session Title: A Place for God
• Bible Story: God’s Tabernacle
(Exodus 35:4–29; 36:1–38; 39:42–43)
• Text Truth: Obey God and worship Him
• Bible Verse:

“Serve the Lord with gladness…” – Psalm 100:2

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving…” – Psalm 100:4

🎶 From singing praises to exploring God’s Word, our students are learning how the Bible applies to their everyday lives in fun and engaging ways!

💬 Family Connection Tip:
Ask your child: “Where can we worship God?”
(You might be surprised by their answer! 😊)

We can’t wait to see our children grow in faith, joy, and understanding each week! 🙌🏽💕

📖 Remembering the Ten Commandments

When God brought the Israelites out of Egypt, He led them to Mount Sinai where He gave Moses the Ten Commandments. These commandments were not just rules—they were guidance from God that showed His people how to love Him and how to treat one another.

📖 Exodus 20:1–17

The first commandments teach us how to honor and worship God, while the remaining commandments teach us how to live in relationship with others—with honesty, respect, and love.

Years later, Jesus reminded us of the heart behind these commands.

When asked about the greatest commandment, Jesus said:

📖 Matthew 22:37–39
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
“This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Jesus showed us that the Ten Commandments ultimately point us to two powerful truths:

❤️ Love God
🤝 Love People

When we live this way, we reflect the very heart and character of God.

✨ This week, take a moment as a family to read Exodus 20 together and talk about how these commandments still guide us today.

📖 This Week in Elementary Sunday School

This week our students are learning about God’s Commands!

While camping in the desert, God called Moses up a mountain and gave him commandments to share with the people of Israel. These commandments helped the people learn how to love God and treat one another.

When Moses shared God’s message, the people said:
✨ “We will do everything God said.”

Because God loves us, He gives us commands to help guide us and show us how to live.

📖 Bible Story: Commandments for the People
(Exodus 19:3-6; 20:1-17; Leviticus 19:1-4)

⭐ Memory Verse: Deuteronomy 8:6
"Keep the commands of the Lord your God by walking in His ways."

🏡 At Home:
Ask your child what some of God’s commandments are and practice the verse together!

📖 Middle & High Sunday School– This Week’s Lesson

This week our students are exploring the moment at Mount Sinai when God spoke to the Israelites and gave them the Ten Commandments.

Before giving the commandments, God reminded the people of who He is and all He had already done for them—bringing them out of Egypt and rescuing them from slavery. Their response to God’s saving work was meant to be worship and obedience.

The first four commandments teach us how to worship God as the one true God, while the last six commandments show us how we should treat the people around us.

God’s commands reveal His character—and they remind us that we are called to love God and love others.

📖 Continue the Conversation at Home

Ask your child these questions this week:

• What do the Ten Commandments tell us about God’s character?

• How do the Ten Commandments challenge us to treat others?

🙏 Prayer
Lord, You have rescued us for a purpose: to worship You and to be part of Your kingdom. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, help us love You and love others.

🌟 Youth of the Mount Sunday School – This Week’s Lesson 🌟

Hello Parents!

This week in Sunday School, our Pre-K and Elementary students will begin exploring the Book of Exodus through a powerful lesson titled “Strong and Mighty.”

📖 Bible Story: God’s People Escaped
📖 Scripture: Exodus 13:17–14:31
📖 Bible Verse: “The people feared the Lord and believed in Him.” – Exodus 14:31

In this exciting Bible story, children will learn how God showed His power by rescuing His people from Egypt. When Pharaoh’s army chased the Israelites, the people were afraid—but God made a way! He parted the sea so His people could walk across safely.

✨ Text Truth: God is strong and mighty.

Throughout the lesson, children will hear about Moses, the leader God chose to guide His people, and they will discover that God can do anything and always cares for His people.

💡 Parent Tip:
You can continue the learning at home by helping your child find the Book of Exodus in the Bible. Point to the word Exodus and remind them that this book tells us about Moses and how God rescued His people.

We are excited to help our children grow in faith through fun activities, Bible stories, and meaningful conversations about God’s power and love.

We can’t wait to see your family in Sunday School this week! 💛

✨ SUNDAY SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT | Middle & High School ✨

This week in Sunday School, our middle and high school students will dive into one of the most powerful moments in the Bible — when God delivered the Israelites from bo***ge.

📖 Focus Scripture: Exodus 14:15–31

When the Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army, it looked like there was no way out. But God showed His power and made a way where there was none.

🔥 Lesson Focus: VICTORY BELONGS TO GOD

In this week’s lesson, students will discover that:
• God fights battles on behalf of His people
• What looks impossible for us is possible with God
• Freedom comes with purpose

Just like the Israelites, we have been rescued by God for a reason — to worship Him and serve Him.

💭 Our students will talk about real-life questions like:
• What does it mean to trust God when life feels overwhelming?
• How does God show up when we feel stuck?
• What does living in freedom through Christ actually look like?

We’re excited for another Sunday of real conversations, biblical truth, and growing faith together.

👟 Teens, bring a friend.
👨🏾‍👩🏽‍👧🏾 Families, we look forward to seeing you!
