The church of Pittsburgh is mourning one of her most devout servant today…
We are all surrounding Allison Park Church in prayers. Thank you Pastor Jeff for obeying God and showing such an incredible example of humility and service all of your life!

Dear church family,

It is with broken hearts that we share with you this devastating news. Last night, after our Saturday evening service, Pastor Jeff suffered a massive heart attack. He was taken to the hospital where he later passed away.

We understand how shocking this feels. Pastor Jeff has led our church with a shepherd’s heart for 35 years. He has dedicated our children, baptized us in water, inspired us with vision, and fed our souls with God’s Word week after week. We’ve suffered a monumental loss.

Please keep Pastor Melodie and the entire Leake family in prayer. They have prayed for us through so many seasons of pain. Now we get to pour our faith back out to them.

Today we have the opportunity to practice what Pastor Jeff faithfully taught us to do when life feels desperate. To look to God for hope, and to one another for strength.

We will be gathering this morning to grieve, worship God, and unite around His Word. Today Pastor Jeff has seen the face of Jesus and is worshiping at his feet. From this side of eternity, we get to join him.

Psalm 34:18 promises us “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” This morning we’ll take hold of that promise together.
