Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Ss. Cyril and Methodius

Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Seminary for men preparing for priestly ministry to the Byzantine Catholic Churches of North America. On-campus as well as online program for lay students.

As the Byzantine Catholic Seminary, we continue the mission mandate of our Lord Jesus Christ, “…teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:20). As a Catholic community of formation, we discern and nurture the gift of vocation granted by the Holy Spirit to those men called to a life of ordained ministry. As a theological center of learning, we hand on the Tradition

of the Christian East for those men and women who seek to serve and enrich the life of the Church and world today. Founded by God’s grace in 1950, the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Ss. Cyril and Methodius is the official seminary of the Byzantine Catholic Metropolitan Church of Pittsburgh, is open to all the North American Eastern Eparchies, and welcomes all those seeking the knowledge possessed by the Eastern ecclesial traditions. As a school of theology, we are Authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Accredited by the Association of Theological Schools.

Discover God's plan for you at “Come and See”!
Men ages 18 to 35 are invited to this weekend retreat from
Friday, 6 November until Sunday, 8 November 2026

To be a priest... Don't you have to give up everything- your family, your friends, the things you enjoy? Don't you have to be super holy, super smart, or somehow “different”? Our “Come and See” weekend can help you in your discernment of a priestly vocation.
Every young man must eventually make some hard decisions- college, career, marriage, family, religious life. How do I know what's right? Does God care what I decide? If you've ever thought about the priesthood, it's worth taking a weekend to learn how to listen to God's plans for your future. The Byzantine Catholic seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius is hosting a come and see weekend retreat for men ages 18 to 35 who may be considering a vocation to the priesthood in the Byzantine Catholic Church. The event runs from 5:00 PM (EST) on Friday evening 6 November through 4:00 PM EST on Sunday afternoon, 8 November 2026 at the Seminary (3605 Perrysville Avenue) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The weekend retreat is free of charge, and it includes sharing liturgical worship services and meals with the Seminary community, an introduction to the Seminary's Program of Priestly Formation, a tour of the Seminary, gatherings with the seminarians, talks, and a panel discussion. The retreat is conducted in a “no pressure - no hard sell” environment. The atmosphere is prayerful, positive, and fraternal.
Any man seeking further information or wishing to register for this come and see weekend retreat of discovery is encouraged to contact his vocation director and use the online registration at https://bcs.edu/come-and-see-2026/.
