"A Father Who Raised His Kids Literally in a World Full of Sin" taken from Genesis 6:5-11 - Noah proved you can be a father who is raising children in the midst of wickedness and still raise Godly children if you have these three traits - walk with God, be just, and be perfect, which means "upright" and "whole" in the original Hebrew. God bestowed righteousness on Noah as a gift for his faith in the Father. Today, we are made righteous through faith in Jesus. Fathers need to be the key spiritual leaders in their households, guiding their families in faith. The most important thing that a father can do is to set a Godly example for his family!

"God's Purpose" taken from I Corinthians 15:50-58 - "God has a reason for each being He has created and has given spiritual gifts to each of us to help us fulfill His purpose. Do not allow things or people in this world to distract you from seeking God's purpose for your life or to tempt you to seek something else in place of God. To gain an understanding of your God-given purpose, seek the Lord with your whole heart and ask Him. He will answer!

"Can a Church Make Jesus Sick?" - taken from Revelation 3:14-22 - The lukewarm, complacent Laodicean church received a warning that they made the Lord sick. This represents Christians who are complacent, self-satisfied, and put themselves first rather than the Lord. It takes seeking the Lord by going to church regularly, reading your Bible on your own, and spending time in prayer with the Lord. If you always have an excuse for not doing these things, you may be lukewarm. So, get on fire for the Lord and get out of the lukewarm condition of the heart!
We apologize for starting this sermon in the middle since we missed taping it from the beginning. But, you will still be blessed by this Word!

"Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread" taken from Matthew 6:9-13 - We depend on our heavenly Father for all our needs! We must pray as Jesus taught us - reverencing Him, aligning our requests to His will, extending forgiveness, and asking for deliverance from temptation while recognizing the extent of power and glory FOREVER! Allow God's kingdom to be evident in your life.

"The Danger of Playing Church" taken from Hebrews 10:26-31 - Some Hebrew Christians were still practicing offering sacrifices in the Temple, but since Jesus paid the debt, this was now a sinful behavior. Once you know something is sinful as a follower of Christ, it is apostasy if you continue in that sin. You are "playing church" if you believe you can just go to church and continue in willfully sinful behavior. The three signs that you are playing church are: 1) You never make a personal commitment to Christ and His church, 2) You know about church but do not show that knowledge in your lifestyle, and 3) You hear the Word of God but are never convicted so there is no growth in your spiritual life and no change in how you live. Are you truly living what and who you are?

"New Wine into New Wineskins" taken from Lue 5:36-38 - Once a wineskin has expanded to a certain point, it has served its purpose. It is time for a new wineskin. Jerusalem COGIC served its purpose in Indianola, and then God moved us to Wilkinsburg. We are new and need each person assigned here to support the ministry. Use your gifts to fill and expand our new wineskin to overflowing!

Enjoy our April Youth Sunday School Review. We adjusted our youth Sunday School to occur after service so we do not have traditional reviews after their classes. So, we set aside one Sunday a month to continue this tradition of public presentation. Church can help youth develop public speaking skills!

"My Weakness Is What Gives Me Strength" taken from II Corinthians 12:7-10 - It is wonderful to hear testimonies of what God has done, but what happens when God doesn't answer? God's "no" is not limited just to those living sinful lives. When he denies a prayer request, we must respond by: 1) treating the trial as a gift to us, 2) aligning our prayers with God's will rather than our own, and 3) remaining committed to serving the Lord as He directs us. When God says, "No," it provides the opportunity to recognize that anything accomplished in our lives is only through His power and not our abilities. When God doesn't answer, just hold on!
