Dear Cityview Family,

As many of you are aware our dear friend and co-Founding Pastor, Wayne Younger passed away on March 9.

Wayne’s vibrant presence was always felt when he entered a room and expressed himself with love, compassion, and a powerful voice. Wayne has touched so many lives not only here at Cityview but through his work with Urban Impact, The Pittsburgh Project, and most recently at Open Hand Ministries. Beyond his formal ministry work, Wayne was so present in sitting next to someone eyeball to eyeball and actively listening and exuding the love of Jesus. Anyone who spent any time with Wayne would always feel loved, seen, and affirmed. For Pastor Leeann, Shaw, Isaiah and Madison, Kayla and Antwan, we extend our sincere sympathies and condolences.

Our work and mission at Cityview will continue in the spirit and purpose that Wayne envisioned when he and Leeann began this wonderful community. We all can be thankful that we knew and were loved by Wayne.

Thanks to PublicSource and Meg St-Esprit for this story highlighting our conviction that when it comes to the table of faith, EVERYONE BELONGS.

Where do LGBTQ Christians congregate in Pittsburgh? National surveys show growing acceptance of q***r people, as local churches debate scripture and inclusion.

It's fairly simple...
Jesus came to love us...
in the flesh... as a real human...
We dare not let others...
dehumanize whom God loves!!!

The Criminal Justice Team is inviting you to engage in a 3 week study put out by EJUSA. Equal Justice USA is a national organization working to transform the justice system.

This study contains short videos and online content around the following topics:
Part 1 – How We Got Here: America’s Criminal Legal System
Part 2 – What Is Justice?
Part 3 – What Are Trauma and Violence?
Part 4 – What Is the Role of Race Equity?
Part 5 – The Bible and Healing
Part 6 – What Can Churches Do?
Part 7 – Resources for Churches
This is a great resource for anyone who has never engaged in conversations about our legal system and for people who have done past studies but would like a refresher on background information, and are continuing to look for practical ways to advocate. There is soooo much to learn and so much work to be done!
Join us on the following Wednesdays at 7pm: February 28th, March 6th and March 13th. Reach out to me if you have any questions!
