The Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, formed in 2004, traces its origins back to April 9, 1855, when these women, Sister (Mother) Mary Francis Bachmann, Sister Mary Margaret Boll, and Sister Bernardina Dorn were invested by Philadelphia Bishop Neumann as the future founders of our community. Through a series of separations, these sisters were split into the Sisters of St Francis of Philadelphia, the Sisters of St Francis of Syracuse, NY, and the Sisters of St Francis of Buffalo, NY.
