Learning to Live Loved: The Journal Experience

This journal is for the woman who either grew up without a father, lost her father, or lacks a healthy and thriving relationship with him, which, in almost all cases, produces an emotional wound that serves as the seedbed for other wounds of the heart.

A wounded heart skews our view of the world around us and impacts every single relationship we ever have. But most importantly, it distorts our perspective and understanding of our Heavenly Father. Furthermore, a wounded heart hinders the fullness of our Father-daughter dynamic with the Lord, and this distortion of Him and His fatherhood pervades every area of our lives. Parts of our souls are reshaped in ways God never intended and in ways we may never realize.

Until now.

The Journal Experience is a sacred journey where readers partner with the Holy Spirit and work through over 400 pages of content and journal prompts. The purpose of The Journal Experience is to be a comprehensive journey that facilitates the deep reflection, exploration, unpacking, and discovery of how the wounds of the heart have specifically and uniquely touched your life. And then move you towards experiencing the healing that’s awaiting you, which will ultimately deepen your relationship with the God of the Bible.

Lastly, you won't have to journey through the journal alone. The next Journal Experience Cohort will launch September 21, 2024.

Learning to Live Loved: The Journal Experience

For the Christian Woman Exploring Fatherlessness, Discovering its Impact, and Deeply Healing Through the Power of Prompted Journaling

This is for women who like me, grew up without a father and love the Lord sincerely. A childhood without a father produced a wound and the Lord is calling for His daughters to be healed in that area specifically...and completely.

This took me over 4 years to finally complete and for a number of different reasons. But without any further delay, I'm extremely happy to announce it's now on the way.

One of the toughest and the most challenging things about healing: recognizing the absolute need for it.

We will recognize the fact that there was a problem, something wasn't right.

We'll acknowledge that there was an impact on us, there had to be.

We will even know there are levels to us that are dysfunctional in how we operate in relationships, process hard situations and navigate negative circumstances.

But even still, there are a number of steps to climb in order to get from the points above, to the point of actually seeking out help. AND THEN actually pursue the PROCESS of healing from it all.

The work of inner healing is easy, but it's not.

It's simple and uncomplicated while in the same breath, there's a lot of emotional, psychological, intellectual and spiritual detangling and unraveling that has to take place...and that stuff ain't fun. At all!!

I'm planning to get into it for the next few days, embracing the reality that healing is a choice.

I'm finally here, and I'm finally ready! Let me start by introducing myself.

My name is Delmesha (pronounced del-mee-shuh), I also go by Del. I am many things but in this moment, I want to highlight my debut title - Learning to Live Loved: When a Fatherless Girl Becomes a Christian Woman - and the fact that it has become a bit of a passion piece.

Originally, I intended for my book to:

1) Simply share how a fatherless childhood prevented my ability to authentically relate to the God of the Bible...as my Father

2) Suggest how highly likely this is the case for countless others

My goal onward is center, discuss and be a tool in the hand of the Lord to explore, identify, unpack and heal the father wound that is undoubtedly ailing His bride.

Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pa, I am proudly HBCU educated from South Carolina State University, became a wife, climbed the corporate ladder in IT Project Management before becoming a freelance consultant and side hustler. I now add to the list that I am a stay-at-home mom of four kiddos.

Gifted. Dynamic. Fearless. Prophet. Teacher. Warrior.

Authentic. Reflective. Self-Aware. Extrovert...who loves the Bible, laughing, the Transformer movies, bear hugs, traveling, warm weather and taking naps! 🥰🥰
