Maybe the real question isn’t, “Is Christmas pagan?”
Maybe the real question is:
“Has modern Christianity itself become pagan?”
Before anyone gets offended, we need to understand what pagan actually means in Scripture.
🔍 What Does “Pagan” Mean in the Bible?
In the Scriptures, pagan simply means worship or practices that do NOT come from YAHUAH.
The Hebrew words used are:
• nakhri — foreign, strange (Ezra 10:2)
• zur — strange, alien to YAH (Hosea 5:7)
Anything added, invented, or borrowed from the nations… anything YAHUAH did not command… is considered pagan.
Pagan = man-made worship.
Biblical = YAHUAH-commanded worship.
And this is where the difference becomes uncomfortable.
⸻
🌑 Biblical Worship vs. Christian Tradition
1️⃣ Biblical Worship (Commanded by YAHUAH)
(Exodus 12:49; Numbers 15; Isaiah 56; Romans 11)
• Seventh-day Shabbath
• Feasts of YAHUAH (not “Jewish feasts”)
• Clean eating (Leviticus 11)
• No mixing worship with the nations (Deuteronomy 12:29–32)
• Obedience as an expression of covenant love (Deut. 10:12–13; John 14:15)
• One faith for Israel and the sojourner no separation, no different laws, no different standards
2️⃣ Christian Tradition (Not commanded by YAHUAH)
• Sunday as “the Lord’s Day”
• Christmas — Saturnalia / Sol Invictus
• Easter — Ishtar / Astarte
• Lent — not found in Scripture
• Saints’ days and church-created holidays
• Theology that treats Torah as “legalism”
• A system that rejects the very things Yahusha and the apostles lived and taught
When we put them side by side, the truth is clear.
⸻
📜 What Did the Early Followers of Yahusha Do?
• They all kept Torah (Acts 21:20; 24:14)
• Paul kept Shabbath and the Feasts
• The early assembly was considered a sect of Judaism (Acts 24:5)
• There was no separate religion called “Christianity”
They weren’t creating something new.
They were walking in the ancient paths.
⸻
🕍 So What Happened?
1️⃣ Early leaders wanted to distance themselves from anything “Jewish.”
2️⃣ Anti-Semitism grew in the early church.
3️⃣ Rome replaced Scripture with tradition.
4️⃣ Pagan customs were “baptized” and renamed.
Exactly what YAHUAH warned us NOT to do (Deut. 12:30–32).
⸻
🔥 So… Is Modern Christianity Pagan?
The honest answer:
Modern Christianity looks more like Rome and Babylon than the faith of the apostles.
Not because people are intentionally doing wrong
but because the system, the calendar, the traditions, and the rejection of Torah are foreign to YAHUAH.
When a religion rejects the commandments of the Elohiym it claims to worship…
when it embraces festivals YAHUAH never gave…
Scripture calls that strange and foreign.
Modern Christianity has drifted so far from Scripture that even pagan traditions now feel normal.
⸻
🌿 The Call Is Simple: Return.
Not to Judaism.
Not to modern Christianity.
But to the faith once delivered to the qodeshiym (Yahudah/Jude 1:3).
Return to:
• Shabbath
• Torah
• YAHUAH’s appointed times
• Covenant
• The way Yahusha actually lived and taught
Return to the ancient path.
Return to the narrow way.
Return to YAHUAH.
