"God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." — 2 Corinthians 5:21
What an incredible picture of God's love and grace!
Jesus Christ, who was completely without sin, willingly took upon Himself the penalty for our sin. At the cross, He bore what we deserved so that we could receive what only He could provide—reconciliation with God and the gift of His righteousness.
This verse is at the very heart of the Gospel. We are not saved by our own goodness, achievements, or efforts. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Because of His sacrifice, we can be forgiven, transformed, and made new.
As Nazarenes, we celebrate not only God's pardoning grace but also His sanctifying grace. The same Savior who forgives our sins continues to work in our hearts, shaping us into Christlike holiness. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are called to live as people who reflect God's righteousness in our daily lives.
Today, rejoice in the great exchange of the cross: Christ took our sin so that we could share in His righteousness.
Praise God for His amazing grace!
