From Stacy Sustaire:
This Lenten season, you don't have to subtract from your life to become closer to God, you can add. Prayer in its most basic essence is daily repentance and rest. The core aspect of Lent is our own repentance. Through our prayer we can confess our deeds and ask for forgiveness.
Walk with me for the 40 days of Lent and explore the basis of Centering Prayer, see how you can deepen your relationship by adding a new way of looking at prayer. Learn how to become centered not only in prayer but throughout your entire daily life. During this walk we will exam through silent daily communion and writing. We will learn a different method of being open to God's grace and presence. We will build a deeper and more intimate life with the Lord.
Everyday (excluding Sunday) at 6pm there will be a group text where you will receive a short message, scripture and prayer prompt. We will discuss the lesson that night and the next day you can interact about how your prayer felt the day before. There will be discussions about how the new prayer is/isn't impacting your life. I want this to be a light for you, there is never any pressure to share.
There will be supplemental printed handouts at the Church after service on Sunday. You can always speak to Rev. Bill Fry and myself whenever you like, not just in the group.
