What a beautiful and blessed day we had at Pittsboro Church of God as we celebrated Sis. Joyce McKissick Day along with our Family & Friends Day!
Our theme for the morning was “There’s Room in This House.” We were especially honored to celebrate Sis. Joyce McKissick, our Mother of the Church, surrounded by her loving family, church family, and friends.
A special thank you to Deacon Lela & Trustee Burke, who invited 10 guests, and Sis. Kay Gattis, who invited 9 guests! What a wonderful example of reaching beyond the walls and making room for others.
One of the most touching moments of the day was seeing family and friends honor the memory of their deceased mother by wearing their mother's hats. It was a beautiful expression of love, remembrance, and legacy.
Bishop Ophelia Livingston preached from the message “There’s Room in This House,” reminding us that the church must make room for those who are hurting, struggling, grieving, searching, and in need of hope. We make room not only by opening the doors of the church, but by opening our hearts and showing the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.
We thank God for every member, family member, friend, and guest who worshiped with us today. There is room for you. There is room for your family. There is room for your story. There is room in this house!
To God be the glory for a wonderful day of worship, fellowship, family, love, and remembrance!
