Summer Book Study | Inspired by Rachel Held Evans

“Inspired” centers on the idea that the Bible is a living, breathing, and confounding text rather than a static science textbook, instruction manual, or political position paper. Evans draws on her own transition from a rigid evangelical upbringing to an open, communal faith tradition. She invites readers to ask difficult questions, such as:
▪️Why does a book meant to explain life’s mysteries leave the reader with so many unanswered questions?
▪️How can a text that has historically given a voice to the oppressed simultaneously be used by oppressors to justify violence, misogyny, and slavery?
▪️What does it truly mean for a text to be “divinely inspired” when it carries so many obvious human fingerprints?

Our children at WPC were challenged to raise $500 for a local charity this year. The reward; pie the pastor in the face. They exceeded their goal and raised $700 for Munch Bunch in Piqua; a ministry that provides food for students daily. Here are a few pictures of their reward! In addition to all the work we had done on our building this past year, WPC has also gone through a "Digital Renovation." That means we got a new website, new church software system, and updated a few pieces of hardware. All this is an effort to be better equipped to serve Christ's Kingdom, Piqua, and Beyond.
