"Remember that you are dust... and to dust you shall return."
These words are often offered during Ash Wednesday worship services.

The words are not meant to sound threatening or foreboding. Instead they remind us that we are not God, but God's good creation. As we receive the ashes on Ash Wednesday, we acknowledge our mortality, our dependence on God and our need for renewal. It is a call to live fully, love boldly and turn our hearts toward God’s grace.

Lent invites us into a season of reflection, repentance and renewal. How is God calling you to grow in grace in this season?

The Piper City and the Melvin United Methodist Churches will not be meeting in person tomorrow due to the inclement weather. We will have a livestream worship on the Melvin United Methodist Church's (Melvin, Illinois) page, tomorrow, Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. ❄️

Join Us for a Community Church Walk! ⛪✨

The CCW of St. Peter Catholic Church in Piper City warmly invites you to a Church Walk on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

☕🍩 Start your morning with coffee and rolls from 8:15–9:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Parish Hall (204 N. Pine Street, Piper City) before we begin our walk!

The Church Walk will include visits to the three beautiful churches in our town:

- St. Peter’s Catholic Church
- United Methodist Church
- First Presbyterian Church

Together we’ll explore the architecture, history, and stained-glass windows of each church, and learn how each congregation practices their faith. The priests and pastors will share stories and insights during this uplifting morning of fellowship and learning.

Come celebrate our community’s shared faith and history! 🌿
