Let’s join together this Sunday, June 7th, at 10am for the Kosen-rufu Shodai Ceremony 🌎

The Kosen-rufu Shodai Ceremony is conducted by all Nichiren Shoshu temples worldwide on the first Sunday of each month in unity with the Head Temple, following the guidance of our High Priest Nichinyo Shonin.

We are so fortunate to have this opportunity to chant in itai doshin (many in body, one in mind) for the establishment of kosen-rufu— the achievement of world peace and the enlightenment of society. With kosen-rufu as our core prayer, and our minds joined as one in this way, there is nothing we can fail to achieve. Let’s make this powerful cause for world peace together.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Schedule of Events (Sun, June 7th, Pacific Time):
-9am Morning Gongyo
-10am Kosen-rufu Shodai Ceremony
-11:30am Introduction to Buddhism Meeting

“How to Maintain a Stable Mind in an Unstable World”

We all have dreams and goals that we wish to reach in our lifetime, but it may feel like our busy lives and challenging circumstances are holding us back from achieving them. In this meeting, we learn about the significance of actualizing a stable mind through Buddhist practice. By developing stability of mind we can flexibly navigate the instability of life and expand our capacity to reach our greatest potential.

Join us this Sunday, May 17, at 10am for the monthly Okyobi Ceremony 🕯️

The Okyobi Ceremony is a memorial service in which we offer our prayers for the enlightenment of our deceased ancestors, family and friends. In this way, it is a wonderful opportunity to share the benefit of Buddhist practice and repay our debt of gratitude to those who have contributed toward our lives. Requesting Toba and participation in the Okyobi Ceremony is an essential part of a balanced Buddhist practice for oneself and others.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Let’s join together this Sunday, May 10th, at 10am for the Goho’on Oko Ceremony.

Gratitude is the foundational spirit of Buddhist practice, and the Oko Ceremony is our most significant opportunity to honor and repay our debt of gratitude for the profound benefit of the Three Treasures: Nichiren Daishonin (the Buddha), the Dai-Gohonzon (the Law), and Nikko Shonin (the priesthood).

Join us in the spirit of gratitude for Nichiren Daishonin and for being able to encounter and practice true Buddhism for ourselves and others!

Let’s join together this Friday, May 1st, at 7pm for the Daigyo-e Ceremony, held in commemoration of Nanjo Tokimitsu.

Nanjo Tokimitsu, Buddhist name Daigyo Sonrei, was a devoted follower of True Buddha Nichiren Daishonin and Second High Priest Nikko Shonin. He helped lay the ground work for Kosen-rufu and the history of his accomplishments have been passed down from generation to generation. One of his most notable was his offering of the vast land upon which Head Temple Taisekiji was built.

Let us offer our heartfelt gratitude for Nanjo Tokimitsu at the Daigyo-e Ceremony and make an auspicious cause for the further advancement of kosen-rufu (world peace). Members are welcome to request toba.

Join us at Myoshinji Temple for our first Introductory Meeting of the month, this Sunday, May 3rd at 2pm! Contact us today to register.

In this session, we will learn on “The Oneness of Life and its Environment.” We often underestimate the impact of our actions on the world around us. However, the Buddhist principle of ‘Esho Funi’ teaches us about the oneness of life and its environment, and the influence that we give and receive through that relationship. Come learn together about the positive effects of Buddhist practice in our lives as individuals, and in the world at large. As we develop the peace and stability of our minds it surely supports the peace and stability of our environment.

We look forward to seeing you there!

In the early morning of April 28, 1253, Nichiren Daishonin stood alone in Kasagamori forest at the top of Seicho-zan Mountain waiting for dawn. As the sun rose above the Pacific Ocean, He joined his hands in prayer and began to chant the Daimoku: “Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo, Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo…”

Myoshinji Temple will celebrate the establishment of True Buddhism at the Risshu-e Ceremony this Sunday, April 26th, at 10am. The annual Myoshinji Chapter Hokkeko General Meeting will also be held together on this auspicious day.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Join us at Myoshinji Temple for an introductory meeting this Sunday, April 19th @ 11:15am.

Do you tend to dwell in a state of anger? Or more so in a state of joy? The Buddhist principle of the ‘Ten Worlds’ describes the fluctuation of life states that we experience from moment to moment by defining them into ten life conditions or ‘worlds.’ Let’s learn together how chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo to the Gohonzon enables us to manifest the life condition of Buddhahood in our lives.

We look forward to seeing you there!
