FOLLOWING JESUS: THE FIRST STEPS

When Jesus passed by Levi’s tax booth, He spoke two simple words:

“Follow Me.”

Levi immediately left everything behind and followed Jesus. His life was forever changed—not because he had everything figured out, but because he responded to Christ’s call.

The same invitation is extended to us today. Jesus doesn’t call perfect people; He calls willing people. The first steps of discipleship begin when we leave our old life behind and walk with Him.

Join us this Sunday as we explore Luke 5:27-32 and discover what it means to answer Christ’s call and take those first steps of faith.

Come worship with us as we learn what it means to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Luke 5:31-32)

Why would the Holy Spirit lead Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted?

In Luke 4:1–13, we see Jesus face temptation head-on and emerge victorious through complete trust and obedience to the Father. Because He endured temptation without sin, He is able to sympathize with our struggles and help us in our time of need.

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” — Hebrews 4:15

Join us this Sunday as we explore why temptation is not merely an obstacle to endure, but a vital part of God’s work in shaping our faith and drawing us closer to Christ.
