First Christian Church, Alexandria/Pineville Louisiana We're a small congregation striving to love God and love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We are fully affirming of LGBTQ persons and families.

We are part of the Disciples of Christ denomination. The Disciples of Christ (Christian Church) is a denomination emphasizing Christian unity, inclusiveness, and social action. Our official identity statement says, “We are a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.”

We are from all walks of life, young and old, different shades of skin, from the whole spectrum of sexuality and gender, believers and questioners, rich and poor, wounded and healers, life-long followers and new to the faith. Our arms are open wide to all seeking a place at the Lord's Table.

Wanna be an influencer? Well maybe follow Jesus’ examples…Pastor Lyndon reminded us that Jesus was an influencer, but was not obsessed with likes…but rather rooted his message in LOVE.

Don’t let your words and quest to “be known” make you like Peter, when Jesus calls him a stumbling block in Matthew 16:13-20.

Sunday, Pastor Lyndon, read to us from Isaiah 56, where Isaiah welcomes new folks into the fold, long before Maya Angelou coined the phrase “Do the best you can until you know better. When you know better, do better.”

Oh Lord, we pray you continue to show us all the ways we are equally human and bound together with love ❤️!

This past Sunday, Pastor Lyndon pointed out that when Jesus walked on water, he was grieving the loss of his cousin, John…and probably in need of rest and the comfort of friends…what a gentle reminder that sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is to simply rest…and allow others to do the same…we all deserve it.
