We made plans for Statewide Rally. We planned the music. We planned the service. We planned the lights.
And then, just before service began, a storm rolled through—and the power went out.
But the POWER never left.
In a room so dark you couldn’t see who was beside you, what anyone was wearing, or who might be watching, hundreds of Louisiana ladies encountered Jesus.
Mikelle Maxwell led with excellence and grace through the unexpected.
Faith Cooley lifted her voice along with her team and led us in worship—a ca****la.
And when it was time for the Word, Sarah Long preached a powerful message through a megaphone borrowed from Children’s Ministry storage.
No stage lights.
No sound system.
No screens.
No distractions.
No power from Cleco.
All power from Jesus.
Later, ladies talked about what happened in that darkness. There was no inhibition because no one could see them. There was freedom to worship without wondering who was watching.
There was freedom to pray for themselves—not looking around the room, not noticing who else needed prayer, not distracted by anything or anyone.
Just them and Jesus.
The electricity came back on shortly after service. God designed a window in time for a divine appointment with Louisiana ladies.
Maybe we thought we had planned Statewide Rally. Maybe God had plans of His own. And sometimes He turns out the lights so we can see what really matters.
Statewide Rally 2026: a night we will never forget.
