Hi Folks! Today at Cobb we listened to the voice calling out in the wilderness according to Isaiah 40:1-5 and Luke 3:4-6. We all must endure our own wilderness moments, but in those moments the Word is close to us, proclaiming blessings in the midst of trouble. Whenever and however we face troubles, this message might help. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/bV4R6cteL90

Hi folks! Today at Cobb and Nahalah we looked at the blessings offered to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph by Simeon the prophet, blessings “revealing the thoughts of many hearts.” This song of blessing is written in Luke 2:22 to 35. We compared it with similar blessings from Isaiah 40:1 and Isaiah 60:1. May this message bring you the blessings of heart and mind you need today! Here is the link: https://youtu.be/BuxkzOMdPa8

Hi Folks! Today's service was recorded at Pinetops. Our scriptures were Genesis 1:1-5, John 1:1-5, and Hebrews 1:1-5. These scriptures show us three Biblical beginnings and they remind us that, though our troubles may come and go, and all sorts of things begin and end, Blessings are forever! Have a happy new year, and may those blessings always attend you! Here is the link: https://youtu.be/pSqsmbBUGoM

Hi Folks! Today at Cobb we looked at the messianic promise of Isaiah 35, and at the "enrollment", or "taxation" set up by Caesar Augustus which required the Holy Family to make the journey from Nazareth to Bethlehemm. In this story we find guidance for our own journey through all of those things that upset and bother us, and on to our own personal realization of the Kingdom of God. I hope this brings you a real Christmas blessing. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/CUBxijZuNBs

Hi Folks! Today at Pinetops we read the call of Isaiah from Isaiah 6 and the end times teachings of Jesus from Matthew 24:36-44. These scriptures remind us that our own demands and expectations for the way we think things should be are often not going to be met. What we need to do is to allow our faith to become deeper and stronger than our attachment to these demands and expectations. We can get very upset when things do not go our way. Meanwhile, the love and peace of God remains as present and strong as ever. I hope this message helps us all to find peace and confidence right here in the middle of these times of conflict and confusion. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/gLmWxp14R34

Hi Folks! This week we read the vision and commissioning of the prophet Isaiah. This scripture helps us to bridge the gap that we often encounter between our personal agenda for the way we think things should be going and the reality of the difficulty we face in accomplishing that agenda. In other words, Isaiah's vision in chapter 6 covers all the frustration and devastation we feel when the way we think things should be going and the reality of the way things ARE going do not quite connect. This is a very human passage and a passage that can be highly effective in helping us to flow with the higher vision of God. I hope this Bible study helps you to deal with the stress of living.

Hi Folks, today’s service was all about faith and confidence in times of trouble. We read Matthew 24:36-44, a scripture commonly used to promote rapture teachings. We compared this reading with Daniel 12:1-4 and Revelation 12:7-12. Together, these scriptures provide a powerful message of faith and confidence for us in times of difficulty and confusion. For us as Presbyterians, the rapture narrative is not about being beamed up to be with Jesus in the sky. The second coming is a way of understanding how we can awaken to a deeper, stronger sense of Christ consciousness in our lives in this present moment. I hope this message helps you to find and keep your center in faith, hope, and love. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/lOW_6Qp_7LU

Hi Folks! Today we looked at selected verses from John 17 where Jesus tells us that he has manifested God’s name to us. This name is “I AM,” as shown by all the “I Am” statements throughout John’s gospel. We are here and now, in this time and in this place so that we can learn to be the creators of each day we live. We have the privilege of making whatever we will out of each of our days. By our personal decision to own that “I Am,” to realize that “I Am” in the fullness of the present moment we can face whatever situations today brings with more positive affirmation and less denial and negativity. I hope this message helps you to live fully and to own that divine sense of being. Here is the link:

Hi Folks! Today we worked on John 17:6 where Jesus says; "I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me." The name of God given to Moses in Exodus 3 is "I AM" This powerful affirmation appears throughout John's gospel in a list of "I am" statements Jesus makes. Among these statements Jesus says; "Before Abraham was, I AM." (John 8:58) The name of God, the word of God, the unity of God, and the love of God are all connected. All together this works into a message of powerful affirmation, and affirmation is something we all need in these days of contagious negativity. I hope you really enjoy this Bible study. Hi Folks! Today we focused on John 18:37 to 19:5 and Romans 8:38. In these scriptures we are reminded to keep our focus on our calling, or purpose in life. In honor of Veteran’s Day, we looked at several stories shared by veterans over the years. Whenever we are faced with some sort of severe challenge, we need to remember John 18:37 where Jesus says; “For this I was born and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth.” This scripture can provide us with tremendous help when the going gets difficult. There is a higher calling, a purpose for these lives we are living. All the challenges will be easier for us to meet if we do so with a solid sense of that purpose. Hi Folks! Today we read John 9:1-39, the story of the healing of a man born blind. This story is about our struggles between seeing and not seeing the deeper reality surrounding us. We live in the era of certain uncertainty. Therefore, we need to remind ourselves to leave a little room for uncertainty as we learn to live with new ways of understanding the world. We often can see our troubles and problems with monumental clarity, but we are blind when it comes to the miracles that surround us. I hope this message is helpful for you.
