To anyone in the lgbtq+ community who has ever experienced religious trauma because of harmful teachings within the church or by someone claiming to be a follower of Jesus, we are sorry. We affirm that Lgbtq+ persons are made in the divine image of Christ and when we have harmed you, we have harmed the body of Christ.

This month and every month, First UMC Pinellas Park will continue the work to reconcile the harm that's been done and to cultivate safe space alongside q***r folks in our community.

**PENTECOST**

How would it feel, then, to live
in that God-shaken house?
To feel the wind,
like the very breath of life,
like the stirring of the
deep before time,
gusting through these small
daily rooms, clattering and pressing
against doors and shutters,
