Our staff recently enjoyed a much-needed time away together at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando.

It was a refreshing few days filled with biblical teaching, goal setting, planning, fellowship, and even some time to relax and recharge. We are grateful for the opportunity to invest in our team so that we can better serve our church family and community. ๐Ÿ’›

A special thank you to Dr. Don Forrester, Chancellor of Veritas Baptist College, for sharing his wisdom and experience with us. His teaching was both challenging and encouraging.

We are blessed with an incredible team of people who love the Lord and love serving others. Weโ€™re excited about all that God has in store for the year ahead at Community! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Meditations in Proverbs 2:9

Proverbs 2:9 โ€œThen shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.โ€

The first word in this verse is very important. We all want to be righteous and fair. We want to do right and take good paths in our life. What comes before this verse is telling up how to get the things that we desire. To receive the good things that God wants us to have, we must first become teachable and willingly put ourselves next to the one who wants to teach us. We must understand that there is no magic pill that will transform us into the things that we want to be.

We must go to school to learn the ways of righteousness and equity. We cannot walk the good paths until we know what they are and then learn how to walk upon them. The start of finding the good that God has for us, is that we must be willing to receive His instruction, His correction, and His reproof. These things are found in His Word. We must receive His Word. We must incline our ear unto His wisdom. His wisdom, sound wisdom, only comes from Him and it is found in His Word. We must seek it and hold on to it as the treasure that it is. We cannot just walk down the beach of His Word, picking up the pretty shells that we see. We must search for everything that He has for us. It cannot be a casual stroll in the sunset, it must be an intentional, focused pursuit. We must become passionate about finding the things that He has for us. We must be willing to take and to receive the hard things along with the pleasant things.

We must face and learn the fear of the Lord. Learning who and what God is, is overwhelming and scary at times. He is so much more that we can ever understood or even imagine that we must stop trying to do it ourselves and just humbly receive Him. We must face that we are nothing without Him and that anything that we are and everything that we have comes from Him.

Once we begin to learn to properly fear and to worship Him, we can begin to walk His good paths. He lays up for us the things that we desire to have and to become along His good paths. As we travel upon His path, He gives us the things that He has for us.

One of the things that we must learn is that we cannot build or achieve the things that He has for us on our own. As long as we strive in our own power we will never get where we want to be or where God wants us to be. We must learn that to receive the things of God, we must put ourselves under His authority and guidance. We can only receive from Him when we submit to Him. He will give us righteousness. He will make us holy. He will give us the characteristics that He wants us to have. He will instruct us in His holiness, His righteousness, His equity, His meekness, His long-suffering, His joy and all the other things that He wishes to give us. Before we can walk in these things, we must humble ourselves and receive them.

God gives us what He wants us to have. We must willingly and humbly receive what He gives. We must put aside our thoughts about how things work and follow wherever He leads. We must willingly seek and receive His instruction, His correction, and His reproof. He will lead us in His good paths and supply us with all that we need and desire. We must become the student and desire to learn what the great Teacher had for us. We must do our homework and study for our tests. He will teach us, we must be willing to learn.

Meditations in Proverbs 1:2

Proverbs 1:2 โ€œTo know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;โ€

We are created in the image of God and we have an innate desire to know and to understand the world. We seek wisdom. We want to know how the world around us works and what our relationship with it is. We want to know the how and the why of things. Knowledge and understanding give us the how, and wisdom gives us the why.

One of the great benefits of a close relationship with the Lord is that we can receive Godโ€™s wisdom. God is the giver of sound wisdom. He will give us truth and reality. God will give us principles and precepts that will guide us in every area of our life. When we receive His wisdom and submit to it, we will live the life that He has designed us for.

The devil wants to give us his worldly wisdom which is a cheep counterfeit of Godโ€™s wisdom. He will give us things that sound good and feel good. He will appeal the wisdom of our own conceit. The devil will do all that he can to draw us away from receiving Godโ€™s sound wisdom. The wisdom of God can be hard to receive at times because it will go against our old nature. Godโ€™s wisdom is founded upon reality and truth. Our old nature is founded upon feelings and perceived reality. Our wisdom gives us the answers that we want. Godโ€™s wisdom gives us truth.

When we build a close relationship with the Lord He will help us to have a true understanding of truth and reality. He will help us to see reality as it truly is. God created a perfect universe. Sin has flawed the perfect universe, but it cannot ever cover the underlying perfection and beauty of Godโ€™s creation. As we begin to understand Godโ€™s wisdom, it will go against our grain, but the more we accept it and understand it, the more we will see its beauty and perfection.

We will begin to perceive the underlying connection of His wisdom to how things properly fit together. We will begin to understand the way God intended His creation to function. The more we walk in His wisdom and understanding the more we will function as we were designed to. As we walk in Godโ€™s wisdom the more we will walk on His good path for our life. He will be able to surround us with His grace, beauty, love, health and prosperity. The good things of God are not the same as the things that our old nature define as good. He defines many things differently than we do. We define beauty, love, health and prosperity in terms of our wants and desires. We define them as things that feed our self. God defines them as things that bring Him glory. When we desire to bring Him glory, rather than to feed our ego, He will reward us with inner peace, joy, and contentment. He will cause our life to function as it was designed to.

๐ŸŽ“โœจ Congratulations, Graduates! โœจ๐ŸŽ“

Last week, we had the privilege of honoring those reaching important milestones in their education journey, from Kindergarten and High School graduates to College and Doctorate recipients. We were delighted to present each graduate with a small gift in recognition of their hard work, perseverance, and dedication.

We also had the special opportunity to present diplomas to the graduates of Community School of the Bible, led by Bro. Jim Gugino, President of CSB. ๐Ÿ“–

We are so proud of each of these individuals and excited to see how God will continue to use them in the days ahead.

๐Ÿ“– "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." โ€” Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

Join us in congratulating all of our graduates! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

Meditations in Proverbs 31:25

Proverbs 31:25 โ€œStrength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.โ€

When we submit to the Lord and walk with Him, He will guide us upon His good path. He will surround us with His grace, beauty, love, health and prosperity. We can walk with the strong confidence that He knows what is on the path. Our Father always has what is best for us on His path. Our best is not always what feels good or what looks good at the moment. His best for us will grow us and help us to mature. His best for us will make us stronger and give us wisdom and understanding.

As we walk Godโ€™s good path, He will hide His Word in our heart and grow our character. He will provide for us. He knows our needs. He will put His desires into our heart and He will fulfill them. He will feed us and cloth us. He will give us shelter and safty.

Every day when we rise, He will wrap us in strength and honor. His strength is a robe that we wear on the outside of us. It covers our words and actions. Our body may be feeble and lame, but He gives us His strength to wear on our weak body. His strength gives us the ability to do right in all that we face on His path. His strength takes us through the battles of life that we all face.

As we walk on His good path, with His robe of strength, He will give us honor. Our words and actions will be directed by His honor. We will walk in integrity and righteousness. God will cause even our enemies to honor us. We will not seek praise, but God working through us, will be praised by others. As God gives us honor, we will turn it back onto Him.

The strength and honor that we wear is not our own but Godโ€™s. He cloths us with His righteousness. The more we submit to Him the more we are able to reflect His glory. Our goal is not to be good or to do good, it is to get out of His way so that His light can shine through us. We are to be a transparent vessel that allows others to see Him inside of.

The more we get out of His way, the greater our joy will become. His Fruit will not grow in a heart full of self. It will only grow in a heart submitted to Him and filled by His Word.
