At a time when so many are searching for the answer to addiction, the world has risen to the occasion offering one program after another. But what is the answer to the Church for the problem of addiction?

Is the Word of God silent about this plague sweeping across our nation, and destroying everything in its path? Is mankind a victim, unable to resist sinful impulses because of a disease and, thus, unaccountable to God? Can one imprisoned by addiction ever be free?

"The Most Excellent Way" started in order to restore confidence to the addicted in the Word of God. In fact, the Bible provides a real solution for that struggle, whether it be with alcohol ... drugs ... sexual sin ... po*******hy ... whatever.

Since 1986, "The Most Excellent Way" has made its primary goal to declare the power that God makes available to a person to overcome addictions through the Cross. We had become slaves to our addiction, but the Bible holds out this great promise: that through Christ we can be made free. Jesus promised: "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed" ~John 8:36.

All are welcome to join like minded people who have been where you have or you are still in some form of addiction.

When we finally get clean and sober, we must learn to live a new life with a new character. When we become new creations in Christ, we must put on His spiritual life and put off the old, worldly, prideful, selfish, lustful nature. In His Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5, 6 and 7), Jesus describes the attitudes of His followers. “The Most Excellent Way” ministry is centered on God’s Word, and Christ’s Beatitudes are our foundation for change.

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”

Look folks, the new year is a few days away. You, or someone you know, don't have to make a new year's resolution to stop the addiction. Come join us at The Most Excellent Way Sabine County to join with others like you. It's never to early and never too late. Meetings are held every Monday night at 7pm.

What We Believe

WE BELIEVE the Bible is God’s inerrant, infallible Word, and it is the final authority on all issues concerning our lives and “The Most Excellent Way” ministry.

WE BELIEVE the Bible says alcohol and drug addiction are sin, not disease. Therefore, the facts of sin and separation from God are dealt with as the roots of all addiction problems.

WE BELIEVE there is only one way we find forgiveness for sin: through

faith in Jesus Christ who died for our sins. He is the only authority

and power able to forgive our sins.

WE BELIEVE there is only one way to be reconciled to God and achieve total victory over the sin of addiction: Jesus said: “You must be born again” by the Spirit. ~ John 3:7 NKJV. That occurs when we ask Jesus Christ to become our personal Lord and Savior.

WE BELIEVE, once “born again,” we are empowered by the Spirit of God to overcome any sin, including addiction and drunkenness.

WE BELIEVE permanent victory over the sin of addiction occurs when

we deny our own will, and begin to willingly submit our lives to the

perfect will of God on a daily basis.

WE BELIEVE in teaching, encouraging and discipling new believers from God’s Word as led by His Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE knowing God’s truths protects us from man’s false ideas and doctrines prevalent in today’s world. “Jesus said to those ... who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’” ~ John 8:31-32 NKJV

WE BELIEVE Jesus is the truth that makes us free. He is the source of truth, the perfect standard of what is right. He frees us from self-deception, and His Spirit gives us discernment: “. . . that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ . . .” ~ Ephesians 4:14-5 NKJV
