Duke Day is a day of faith, fellowship, food and football sponsored by the United Methodist Men. The day begins with a service and special guest speaker at Goodson Chapel in the Divinity School, followed by a tailgate meal and then attendance at the Duke-UNC football game---all for just $40 per person. Each year, through food packing and other means, PUMC partners with Feed the Hunger to make a difference in combating food insecurity around the world. One of the many ways that Feed the Hunger finances its operations is through a fundraiser and a game that many of us love. Golf!

Feed the Hunger is holding their Sixth Annual Captain’s Choice Golf to Give Back tournament on September 2, 2026, on the Champions Course at Bryan Park. An individual entry fee of $150 includes the green fee for one individual AND provides a young child with meals for up to an entire school year. Registration includes a grab-and-go breakfast, catered lunch, non-alcoholic beverages, green fee, and cart fee. You’ll also receive special swag and the chance to win a $1,000 hole-in-one prize, along with other contests! Sign up on the Feed The Hunger website.

Join us for an evening Service for Peace on Thursday, September 24 beginning at 6pm with light refreshments. The Service for Peace is designed as an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to gather in reflection and prayer, seeking peace within themselves, their communities and throughout the world.

Join us on Tuesday, August 18 from 6-8pm for an evening with Doug Lynam, a former monk, an investment advisor, best-selling author, keynote speaker, and coach. Doug will give a condensed understanding of the enneagram and how knowing our enneagram type can help us identify the childhood wounds driving financial behavior, understand how money behaviors function as survival mechanisms, transform the shadow side of our coping mechanisms with the better parts of our true selves and harness the strengths of our Enneagram type for good in the world. Ladies, do you love to sing, but just haven’t taken the leap yet? Consider joining the PUMC Belles for the special music slot on Sunday, August 23 for the 8:15 and 11:00 services. We will have rehearsals on Wednesday, Aug 12 and 19 at 5:45pm in the sanctuary. It is required that you attend at least one rehearsal. Consider “bringing a friend” - invite someone to join you (it’s not a requirement to participate, just encouragement).

Worship with us at 8:15, 9:40, or 11:00! This Sunday, we will be recognizing our children who are entering Kindergarten and 2nd grade during the worship services. We will be presenting them with a Bible and praying for them (and all students) to have an excellent school year! Kids Sunday School also resumes this Sunday!
