Help us wish a Happy 12th Anniversary to Pastor Sam and Doreen!

Our church family is truly blessed by the love, humility, and devotion you share. This photograph beautifully reflects the heart of your marriage. Pastor Sam washing Doreen’s feet is a picture of Christlike love, serving one another with tenderness, humility, and honor. The fruit of the Spirit can be seen in the way you love and care for one another and in the way you faithfully serve our congregation. Whether you are ministering, teaching God’s Word, helping with an activity, cleaning the church, picking up trash, carrying heavy items, crafting materials, fixing things, cooking, or simply being present when someone needs you, you serve with willing hearts. So much of what you do happens quietly, but it does not go unnoticed.

We also admire the love and care you give to your two children. That same love extends to the children of our church as you welcome, encourage, protect, and care for each one as though they were your own. Your family’s heart for children is a beautiful part of your ministry and a blessing to our entire congregation. Thank you for answering God’s call together and for loving our church family so well. Your marriage, growing faith, and shared commitment to ministry are a blessing to all of us. We love and appreciate you both, and we pray that the Lord continues to strengthen your marriage, bless your family, and use your lives for His glory. Continue to uplift Pastor Sam and Dorene in your prayers.

Beautiful service today at Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene!

We began the morning with wonderful Sunday School classes throughout our church, including our Adult Sunday School, Navajo Sunday School, Young Teens and Adults class, and Children’s Sunday School. We are thankful for every opportunity we have to gather, open God’s Word, learn together, and grow in our relationship with Him.

During our pastor’s message, we learned about Holy Communion throughout Scripture and the importance of having a relationship with the Father. We were reminded that Communion points us back to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and forward to His return and the wedding supper of the Lamb.

As the Church, the Bride of Christ, we wait for His return while continuing to pursue holiness and walk faithfully with Him. Communion reminds us that our confidence does not rest in our own performance, but in the finished work of Jesus. We come to His table not because we are worthy, but because He welcomes us.

As our pastor shared, we look back to the cross, look forward to Christ’s return, and continue to fight the good fight of faith as we lay hold of eternal life. Today, our church family also came together to partake in Holy Communion, remembering the life, suffering, sacrificial death, resurrection, and promised return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We also celebrated our August birthday babies! Please join us in wishing Nancy Alonzo, Xavier Alonzo, and Veronica Maria a very happy birthday! May the Lord bless them and guide them throughout the year ahead.

What a beautiful Sunday of learning God’s Word, worshiping together, remembering Christ’s sacrifice, sharing in fellowship, and celebrating as one church family!

Today was a wonderful day of learning, fellowship, and strengthening our ministries for the work God has called us to do. Our Nazarene Discipleship International leadership had the opportunity to attend the Nazarene Discipleship International Summit in Flagstaff, a much-needed gathering focused on strengthening ministry throughout our Southwest Native American District.

Pastor Sam, our NDI President Martha, Vice Chair Doreen, and Sunday School teachers Brooke and Josh attended on behalf of Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene. We are thankful for the opportunity to bring back what was shared, learned, and discussed so that it can help strengthen our ministries and encourage all of us as we continue serving together.

Throughout the day, we learned about the five core values of Nazarene Discipleship International: Fervent Prayer, Compassionate Outreach, Comprehensive Biblical Learning, Intentional Mentoring and Equipping, and Authentic Relationships. These values reminded us that discipleship is more than a program or something that happens only on Sunday. It is a way of life as we follow Jesus and help others follow Him.

We also received training and shared ideas in Children’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Christian Lay Training, Women’s Ministry, Sunday School, leadership, and stewardship. In many of these areas, we may already be doing good work, but today gave us an opportunity to look at how we can strengthen what God has already placed in our hands and become more intentional in how we reach, teach, mentor, equip, and disciple others.

Most importantly, we were reminded that ministry is not simply about doing more. It is about allowing the Lord to lead us. We pray, seek His direction, remain obedient to His Word, and then do what He calls us to do. Jesus has given His Church a clear mission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:19 NIV

Our prayer is that what we learned today will not simply stay in our notes, but will be carried back into our church, our ministries, our homes, and our community. May the Lord continue to guide us, strengthen us, and use us as we faithfully go and make disciples.

A special thank you to Fern Pokegan and our District NDI leadership for hosting this training and creating an opportunity for our churches to come together, learn, grow, and be strengthened in ministry. We are thankful for your leadership and your heart for equipping our churches throughout the Southwest Native American District as we continue working together to fulfill the Great Commission and make disciples for Christ.

📖 Join us tonight for Wednesday Night Bible Study!

Tonight we’ll be studying Exodus chapter 33-34. If you have time, read the chapter before we meet so you’ll be ready for discussion and any questions you may have.

As always, we’ll be reading in both English and Navajo. Join us at 6 PM at Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene, and feel free to bring your favorite snack or evening meal to share.

We look forward to another evening of great discussion and growing together in God’s Word!

The Lord calls us to go out and share His love, and on Saturday, Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene had the opportunity to simply be present in our community at the Ramah Navajo Fair & Rodeo.

After spending the morning and afternoon preparing, serving, and cleaning up from the livestock show meal, we were tired, but we set up our hospitality and prayer booth and kept serving.

We offered hot coffee, cold water, free Bibles, scripture hearts made by our Women’s Ministry, and a place for anyone to stop and sit. Some came for coffee, some chose a Bible or scripture heart, and some asked for prayer. Our church members were there to pray with them and intercede for their needs. And even just be in fellowship. We served over 130 coffee cups! 🥳

One of the sweetest things was seeing the men of our church leading the booth that evening. Our pastor has been praying for a men’s ministry, and without even realizing it, the Lord was already leading our men to step forward and serve.

We were extremely tired, but it was worth it. Even if we had only prayed with one person, it would have been worth it. Sometimes ministry is simply showing up, being present, loving people like Jesus, and letting the Lord use you right where you are. 💜🙏🏽⭐️
