Protect the Young
Small Yellow Cross
O Little St. Agnes,
so young and yet made so strong
and wise by the power of God,
protect by your prayers
all the young people of every place
whose goodness and purity are threatened by the evils
and impurities of this world.

Image of St Agnes of Rome
Give them strength in temptation
and a true repentance when they fail.
Help them to find true Christian friends
to accompany them in following the Lamb of God
and finding safe pastures in His Church
and in her holy sacraments.

May you lead us
to the wedding banquet of heaven
to rejoice with you and all the holy virgin martyrs in Christ
who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.

An Epiphany Prayer
Lord Jesus may your light shine our way, as once it guided the steps of the magi: that we too may be led into your presence and worship you, the Child of Mary, the Word of the Father, the King of nations, the Saviour of mankind; to whom be glory for ever.
Amen.

Feast of the Holy Family—
Today is the feast day of the Holy Family, but also every family's feast day, since the Holy Family is the patron and model of all Christian families. Today should be a huge family feast, since it is devoted entirely to the Holy Family as a model for the Christian family life.

"The children must learn to see in their father the foster-father St. Joseph, and the Blessed Mother as the perfect model for their own mother. The lesson to be learned is both practical and theoretical, in that the children must learn how to obey and to love their parents in thought, word and action, just as Christ was obedient to Mary and Joseph. Helping mother in the kitchen and in the house work, and helping father in his odd jobs about the home thus take on a new significance by being performed in a Christ-like spirit. AMEN.

🕇 THE TWELVE DAYS OF
CHRISTMAS

The Twelve Days of Christmas celebration begins on December 25th and ends at Epiphany on January 6th.

The first day of Christmas is Christmas day and each day is a feast in memory of a Saint or event associated with the Christmas season. The days are as follows:

At Christmas time, have the song “The twelve days of Christmas” which is an English Christmas carol. This carol was used as a Catechism song for Catholic children. From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Tradition holds that Catholic parents developed "The Twelve Days of Christmas" to teach children their beliefs.

A partridge in a pear tree represents Jesus (the partridge will sacrifice its life to save its young).

Two turtle doves: The Old and New Testaments

Three French hens: Faith, hope, and charity, or the three gifts of the Wise Men

Four calling birds: The four Evangelists--Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John

Five golden rings: The first five books of the Old Testament

Six geese a-laying: The six days of creation described in Genesis

Seven swans a-swimming: The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit (wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord)

Eight maids a-milking: The eight Beatitudes

Nine ladies dancing: The nine choirs of angels (Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archangels, and regular angels); or the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit (love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, patience, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control).

Ten lords a-leaping: The Ten Commandments

Eleven pipers piping: The eleven faithful Apostles

Twelve drummers drumming: The twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

🕇 3rd week of Advent
The pink candle is being lit on the Advent wreath as the third candle .
In French , the color pink has more resonance as it is called ‘rose’ like the flowers name and conveys the sense of beauty , creation , nature and growing .
All relevant to this Third Sunday of Advent .

The term “Gaudete “ is Latin word for “rejoice .”

The purpose of rose color is to bring sense of joy amidst a sense of penance .

The light of Christ is coming soon as hopefully we move closer and closer to the light .
