Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

How do you relate to an evil person? I’m hoping that you don’t know an evil person, and that you don’t have to concern yourself with that question. But let’s consider that if you can get along with an evil person, you can get along with anybody! So let me ask a few related questions: How do you relate to a person who has wronged you? How do you relate to an obnoxious person? Or a person with a different opinion? Or a person with a different religion? Or a person of a different political party? Jesus gives us three commands as we continue through His “Sermon on the Mount” as recorded in Matthew 5: “Do not resist an evil person;” “Love your enemy;” and “You are to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Those were all radical ideas when Jesus said them, and they are radical today. Moreover, those radical commands can only be obeyed as we are filled with the Holy Spirit of God.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* Wow! The Activities Center looks Great! A big thanks to Mitch and Heidi Hammer for organizing a great “Clean Day,” and for everyone who helped!

* This Sunday is Communion Sunday. Come join us as we worship, hear the Word of God, and take the bread and the cup in remembrance of Jesus. We will also take a special offering at the end of the service to help people in our community in need. Our Mercy fund has been a big help in providing food, gas, and plumbing repairs for people unable to pay for such basic needs. Our fund is a few bucks in the hole, so if you can help replenish this fund, it would be a great help and a blessing to those in difficult circumstances. The plate will be by the door this Sunday on your way out.

* Our church sewer system is functional now, but more repairs are needed. If you can help meet this need with a gift to the church building fund, it would help us make sure our bathrooms are stable for the coming years.

THIS WEEK’S CHURCH CALENDAR:

* Sunday, June 14th at 9:30 am: All Church Prayer Time

* Sunday, June 14th at 10 a.m.: Worship Service in the sanctuary. Sermon: “How to Get Along with an Evil Person” Matthew 5:38-48. Live-streamed (Lord willing) on pmccc.org, YouTube.com, and Facebook

* Wednesday, June 17th at 10 am: Women’s Bible Study in the Activities Center

* Wednesday, June 17th at 10 am: Men’s Bible Study in the Church Library: Study: The Book of John

* Thursday, June 18th at 6 pm: High School student gathering in the Activities Center

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

Do you keep your word? Do you do what you say you will do? Can people depend on you? Jesus said, “Let your statement be “Yes, yes, or “No, no; anything beyond these is of evil.” In other words, we shouldn’t need to swear to convince someone we are telling the truth. We don’t have to swear to convince people we will do what we say. God always keeps His word. He always keeps His promises – and there are many wonderful promises for us! God expects us to keep our word and do what we say we will do. This radical idea of always being dependable is one of God’s great Characteristics. He is faithful. We can trust Him. He wants us to be faithful people, just as He is faithful.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* IT’S HAPPENING THIS SATURDAY! This Saturday, June 6, is the Church Clean Day at the Activities Center! 10 am to 3 pm. Lunch included. Plan to join in on this productive fun and fellowship!

* We can’t put it off any longer. We have been having trouble with our church sewer and septic tank for several years. Our system is about 40 years old, and now we need to have it pumped and repaired. It will cost about $12,000. If you can help with this project, please make a gift to the church with a note: church building fund.

* The new June, July, August issue of Our Daily Bread is now available by the front door. Pick up your copy and feed your soul with the Word of God each day.

* We will be blessed at this Sunday’s service as Lee Rugless leads us in songs of worship.

Pastor Rick

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

You know adultery is wrong, right? Jesus says there is something equally wrong: lust. Adultery can destroy a marriage and a family. Lust can bring someone into bo***ge and also destroy a marriage or family. According to Webster, lust is “an intense, powerful craving, usually described as an overwhelming or uncontrollable sexual desire.” Lust can lead to adultery. Jesus said, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Of course, lust does not limit itself to men. Women too can be guilty of lust. Fortunately, God has a solution for lust. It is the Word of God and the Spirit of God. And that pretty much is God’s solution for everything! Come join us this Sunday, May 31st, to hear the words of Jesus as to how to allow His Word and His Spirit to direct your life.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THES*E COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* ATTENTION CHURCH COUNCIL MEMBERS: There will be a Church Council meeting this Sunday, May 31st, at 12 noon.

* IT’S GETTING CLOSER! SET THIS DATE ASIDE: Saturday, June 6: Church Clean Day at the Activities Center! 10 am to 3 pm. Lunch included! Plan to join in on the fun and fellowship!

THIS WEEK’S CHURCH CALENDAR:

* Sunday, May 31st at 9:30 am: All Church Prayer Time

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

We all know murder is wrong. Jesus says there is something equally wrong: anger. Murder can destroy a life. So can anger. Anger can destroy a marriage, a family, a friendship, and just about any relationship. Jesus said, “You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘You shall not commit murder’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.’ “But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court;…” (Matthew 5:21-22a, NASB). Fortunately, God has a solution for our anger. It is the forgiveness of God and the love of God poured out within our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5) This Sunday, May 24th, we will pick up where we left off last week and continue our study of the book of Matthew. We will take a look at what Jesus has to say about anger, and God’s solution for our anger.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* Thank you for praying for our church table at the Lilac Festival! We gave out Bibles to two teenagers who didn’t have Bibles, talked to several people about their relationship with God, gave out a variety of Christian literature, told several people about our church, and were able to give an unchurched mother a book of children Bible stories to read to her 5 year old. Please pray that God will use His Word to draw people closer to Christ.

* Thank you for praying for the new youth meetings! They are going great! High school students are meeting every Thursday night at 6 pm, having a meal together, having fun together, and studying the Word of God together. Please pray for Jeremiah Burgman, as he gives leadership to this important ministry, and that these students will continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

* SET THIS DATE ASIDE: Saturday, June 6: Church Clean Day at the Activities Center! 10 am to 3 pm. Lunch included! Plan to join in on the fun and fellowship!

* God is doing great things in the hearts of our people at PMCCC! God is touching the hearts of children, youth, and adults. Please continue to pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to help us grow to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength!

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

Just a heads up: This Sunday is Mother’s Day! We plan to give thanks to God for the mothers who come. We will do this by giving each mother a gift, praying for them, and then taking a look at one of the great mothers in the Bible. I would tell you the name of this biblical mother, but the Bible doesn’t tell us her name. She is simply referred to the Shunammite woman. She is called that because she is from the city of Shunam. It just goes to show you that you don’t have to be famous to be great in God’s eyes. What made her great? Her respect for God and His prophet, her contentment with the provision of God, and Her confidence in the Power of God. I’m sure her example will be a blessing to all of us. So be sure and bring your mother to church! And mothers, please come so we can honor you and pray for you.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* A big “THANK YOU” to everyone who came to the Work Day at the church last Saturday! It’s great to have clean windows, floors, wood, seats, and yard!

* In addition to Mother’s Day, this is Communion Sunday. After the sermon, we will take the bread and the cup and remember the price that Jesus paid to purchase our salvation. We will also take up a retiring offering at the end of the service to help needy people in our community.

* Do you need a shelf? We removed the double shelf from the Children’s Church room. If you need a shelf, take a look at it before we dispose of it – it is outside of the Children’s Church sliding glass door.

* May 15th and 16th is the Lilac Festival here in Pine Mountain Club! Please plan to join us at church next week so that we can encourage and welcome visitors! We can be a great blessing to people visiting town as we unite our hearts in worship.

THIS WEEK’S CHURCH CALENDAR:

* Sunday, May 10th at 9:30 am: All Church Prayer Time

* Sunday, May 10th at 10 a.m.: Worship Service in the sanctuary. Sermon: “A Great Mother of Faith”. 2 Kings 4:8-37. Live-streamed (Lord willing) on pmccc.org, YouTube.com, and Facebook

* Wednesday, May 13th at 10 am: Women’s Bible Study in the Activities Center

* Wednesday, May 13th at 10 am: Men’s Bible Study in the Church Library: Study: The Book of John

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

Are you a person of influence? We all are. More than we know. We all influence others in one way or another, either in a positive way or a negative way. For eight weeks we have looked at the teaching of Jesus as He told us how to walk on the pathway to a blessed life. As we walk on this pathway of blessing, we will have great influence for Christ as we interact with other people. Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.” What would the world be like without salt and light? It would be a tasteless world and a dark world. God has given us the amazing privilege of being salt and light!

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* This Saturday, May 2nd, there will be a fun WORK DAY at the church from 10 am to 3pm. Come join us for the whole time or part of the time. There will be a free lunch at 12 noon. We will be cleaning the Sanctuary building as well as doing yard work around the building. Bring your gloves and join in on the fun and fellowship!

* May 15th and 16th is the Lilac Festival here in Pine Mountain Club! We plan to have a table to hand out water, Bibles, and Life books to all who are interested. We need people to take a one or two hour shift at the table to hand out water, Bibles, and give words of encouragement. If you can help with this important outreach, please answer this email.

THIS WEEK’S CHURCH CALENDAR:

* Sunday, May 3rd at 9:30 am: All Church Prayer Time

* Sunday, May 3rd at 10 a.m.: Worship Service in the sanctuary. Sermon: “Continuing on The Pathway to a Blessed Life”. Matthew 5:13-16. Live-streamed (Lord willing) on pmccc.org, YouTube.com, and Facebook

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

Have you ever been persecuted because you belong to Christ? I can’t say that I have. Here in the United States, the founding fathers made sure that our right to meet and worship was protected in the U.S. Constitution. But throughout history, persecution has been a constant norm for Christians. Jesus was persecuted. All the disciples of Jesus were persecuted and all died a martyr’s death except one. The early Christians were persecuted in the Roman empire because they wouldn’t worship the emperor. Christians today are persecuted around the world in communist countries, socialist countries, secular countries, Muslim countries, Hindu Countries, and in Buddhist countries. In many countries, Christians are thrown in prison simply for having a bible in their possession, or for meeting for worship, or for talking about Jesus, or for converting to Christianity. Hebrews 13:3 tells us to remember Christians in prison because of their faith in Christ. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” According to Jesus, to be persecuted for being a Christian is a blessing that will help prepare us for the kingdom of heaven. Maybe we will have the opportunity to be persecuted for the sake of Christ in the future. Come join us this Sunday, April 26th, to understand the blessing of persecution for those who follow Christ.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* ATTENTION EVERYONE! There will be a fun WORK DAY on Saturday, May 2nd! We will meet at 10 am, work till noon, and enjoy a provided pizza lunch, and then continue until 3 pm. * Going shopping this week? Be on the lookout for items to buy and place in the Operation Christmas Child boxes. October is soon approaching, and we all want to be ready to fill a box!

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

Are you a peacemaker? Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9). It’s not easy to be a peacemaker. We are surrounded by people who want their own way, who often criticize or complain, and stir up conflict with others. We are often hindered by our own pride and selfish desires. What do you do when someone “Gets in your face?” It happens in our family, our church, our community and our nation. It’s not easy to be a peacemaker. It takes the grace of God. It takes love, courage, wisdom and patience. All the more reason for us to draw near to Christ and walk with Him. Jesus was a righteous peacemaker. One who spoke with both love and authority. One who confronted evil and yet offered help to all who came to Him. Peacemaking is a complex endeavor. Yet God gives us some clear guidelines. I pray you will join us this Sunday, April 19th, to explore this important opportunity of this blessing from Jesus.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* I want to thank all of you who prayed for Jeremiah Bergman as he gave leadership to the new Youth Meeting! They met tonight (Thursday, April 16) at the PMC Pizza restaurant, and had a great time getting to know one another and going through a funny questionnaire. There were 7 students and 5 adults who came, and they are all excited about meeting regularly for fellowship and Bible study. Please continue to pray for Jeremiah and this important ministry to students here on the mountain.

* I just want to remind you when you go shopping to be on the lookout for items to buy and place in the Operation Christmas Child boxes. October is not too far off, and we all want to be ready to fill a box!

* Did you invite a visitor to come to Easter service? Did they come? Be sure to invite them again! Let them know that Church is a great place to be every Sunday!

Becoming a Peacemaker,

Pastor Rick

04/10/2026

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

Do you have a pure heart? Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” Is it even possible to have a pure heart in this mucky world? We are surrounded by the dirt of a godless society. We are bombarded by the crass sounds of deception and profanity. We are constantly confronted with the filth of sensual and perverted images. We walk through a fog of polluted ideas. How can we protect ourselves? How can we keep ourselves pure? The psalmist writes, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.” (Psalm 119:9). King Solomon’s advice was to “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the streams of life.” (Proverbs 4:23). Philippians 4:7 says we should let the peace of God guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Having a pure heart means protecting our emotions and thoughts from anxiety, sin, and worldly influences by replacing them with God’s peace and truth. By God’s grace it is possible to have a pure heart. And then God tells us, “…whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” (Philippians 4:8). And most importantly, dwelling on these things will enable us to see God. This Sunday, April 12th, we will take a close look at what it means to have a pure heart and see God. I pray you will come join us.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* This Sunday, April 12th, is Communion Sunday. In addition to singing, prayer, and the proclamation of God’s Word, we will take the bread and the cup together and remember the suffering and death of Jesus. As we remember Jesus, may we grow in our gratitude for His mercy. We will also take a second offering at the end of the service to help people in need in our community.

* Please be in prayer for Jeremiah Bergman as he begins a new ministry with high school students this Thursday night, April 16th at 6 p.m.. Please pray that God’s Spirit will draw students to desire to know Christ and to grow in their relationship with Him.

THIS WEEK’S CHURCH CALENDAR:

* Sunday, April 12th at 9:30 am: All Church Prayer Time

* Sunday, April 12th at 10 a.m.: Worship Service in the sanctuary. Sermon: “The Pathway to a Blessed Life, Part 6”, Matthew 5:1-12. Live-streamed (Lord willing) on pmccc.org, YouTube.com, and Facebook

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,

This week we will take a break from our busy schedules, and set aside the noisy turmoil of the world to remember the most important intervention from heaven into human history. Today, April 3rd at 7 pm, we will gather to reflect on the Lord Jesus as He made His way to the cross. Not because He needed to; not because he had to; but because He chose to. There will be no sermon Friday night. We will hear from a man who was there and left his account of the events as he saw them. We will take communion. We will hear and read the Scripture, sing songs, and watch a few film clips. We will be reminded of His sacrifice for us, as he took on Himself the full punishment of your sin and mine – so we would never have to bear it ourselves.

Then Sunday morning at 10 am we will gather again to hear those wonderful words from the angel: “He is not here, He has risen, just as He said!” (Matthew 28:6). It will be a wonderful celebration as we sing songs of praise and joyfully affirm His resurrection and the assurance of ours!

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* THIS EASTER WILL BE THE BIGGEST CELEBRATION OF THE YEAR! Plan to come and experience the joy of the resurrection! And after the Easter service on April 5th, please plan to stay for the Resurrection Feast! This is not a potluck. We will meet in the Activities Center, enjoy great fellowship, a free barbeque chicken lunch, a few games, and the kids will enjoy an Easter egg hunt! We’ll also hear some great stories as to how Jesus has changed the lives of some of the folks in our church. Please also plan to bring a friend! God can do great things when we share His love with others!

* We will be especially blessed this Sunday as we welcome special guest Lee Rugless to lead us in songs of praise. Lee is an accomplished vocalist and pianist, and he has agreed to join us as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus!

EASTER EVENTS:
Good Friday: April 3rd at 7 pm (a remembrance of Jesus’ last supper, arrest, crucifixion, and burial)
Easter Sunday: April 5th at 10 am followed by a free Resurrection Feast! (a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus!)

THIS WEEK’S CHURCH CALENDAR:

* Friday, April 3rd at 7 pm (doors open at 6;30 pm), Good Friday Service

* Sunday, April 5th at 9:30 am: All Church Prayer Time

* Sunday, April 5th at 10 a.m.: Worship Service in the sanctuary. Sermon: “Jesus Appears to Doubting Thomas”, John 20:24-29. Live-streamed (Lord willing) on pmccc.org, YouTube.com, and Facebook

* Sunday, April 5th at 12 noon: Free lunch and a time of fellowship

* Wednesday, April 8th at 10 am: Women’s Bible Study in the Activities Center: Topic: Prayer
