The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer...2 Samuel 22: 2

Certainly in today's world we must always keep in remembrance that He is still in control...no matter what our natural eyes see, our natural ears hear, or we experience in this fallen world.

Good morning my Brothers and Sisters

29 March 2021
As Christians we are the propagators of the gospel, and we must guard what God has entrusted to us with passion. It goes farther than just sharing the good news, what we share must be trustworthy. We are in Passion Week…Palm Sunday til Resurrection Sunday. Let’s be intentional!

Paul writing to the Corinthian Church…in instructing about tongues says if the trumpet gives an unfamiliar sound it is not understood…lets be vigilant and clear on the sound we give.

Easter Bunny
• Rabbits don’t lay eggs
• Easter is a pagan holiday

Contemporary traditions such as the Easter Bunny and the Easter egg can be traced back to the practices established by Semiramis in ancient Babylon. Because of their prolific nature, rabbits have long been associated with fertility and its goddess, Ishtar. Ancient Babylonians believed in a fable about an egg that fell into the Euphrates River from heaven and from which Queen Astarte (another name for Ishtar or Semiramis) was "hatched."

As the Gospel of Christ spread throughout non-Jewish nations, among people who did not have a history of celebrating the Passover, the pagan rites of Easter gradually became assimilated into what the Christian church calls "Resurrection Day." Compromising truth with the comfort of the world is not new. Actually, American history teaches us that Easter was dismissed as a pagan holiday by the nation's founding Puritans and did not begin to be widely observed until just after the Civil War.

So let's be intentional during this Passion Week, when we are wished Happy Easter…let's take the opportunity to witness to each other, and for our savior, and with love remind the well wisher that we don’t celebrate Easter we celebrate Resurrection Day.

Here is a novel thought… my Christian brothers and sisters. Please DO apply it to the current political climate. Let’s say you have a neighbor who you have a hard time getting along with, because he doesn’t cut his lawn as often as you’d like. That neighbor’s house catches on fire…you can stand on your front porch with your cup of coffee and think my problem is solved…or you can hook up your garden hose and help him put out the fire. Decision one AFTER you help him put out the fire it WILL provide an opportunity for you to talk to him about his lawn, and BECAUSE of your goodwill there is a chance for a solution. Decision number two you stand there and do nothing…but YOU WILL run AFTER your house also catches fire, because the fire does not discriminate. But it will be too late because your house is gone too..."we will live together as brothers or we will perish together as fools" Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I am writing today to encourage you in the face of this world wide pandemic, and to remind you that the light shines the brightest when it is the darkest. God has chosen us to be the lights in the midst of this darkness. It is important that we share with people that there is hope, and a future, and victory as we go through this crisis. God has not failed us, or abandoned us.

Jesus has defeated the specter of death, and as a proof He showed Himself in resurrected physical form after His physical death on the Cross. He did this to prove to everyone, that if you place your trust in His accomplished work on Calvary you will not die, even though the house you currently reside in (the body) may perish. Death has no power over a believer even if we succumb to this plague. This is the story we must encourage each other with, and this is the story we must share with an unbelieving world.

Now is the time for those of us who live and die in this truth to share this story with someone who has not believed, or who has forgotten that life is in the Father’s hands. We do not know what tomorrow may bring, but we have the peace that will follow us into tomorrow. The love of God our Father and Jesus Christ our savior will keep us through this storm.
