Burma: A Hazardous Journeys Expedition A team of men will chronicle the 200-year legacy of Adoniram Judson, mans calling of dominion, and a better understanding of Buddhism—for the glory of God.

My name is Kurtis Amundson. When I was a boy, I read the inspiring story of the great missionary evangelist, Adoniram Judson. Judson traveled with his family on a hazardous journey to the treacherous land of Burma to share the glorious gospel of grace. This testimony of faithfulness helped to mold me into the man I am today. Men of our day are weak and indifferent. They need an example set before

them which will inspire them, such as Judson’s; a model of true manhood, where men, despite risk and hardship, set out to fulfill their God-given duties. This July, on the 200th anniversary of Judson’s arrival in Burma, my team and I, commissioned by the Hazardous Journeys Society, will set out on our own hazardous journey to this strange and marvelous land for the purpose of chronicling the many great providences of God. It is our goal not only to present this amazing story of true biblical manhood but to also show how man has a responsibility to steward the resources God has given to him. By examining the way the Burmese people use the land, forest, animals, and other natural resources, we will present relevant answers to challenging questions facing us today—from a biblical perspective. On our journey, we will also seek to give a better understanding of Buddhism and its effect on the world. To share the accomplishments of our study and research efforts, we will record and produce several video episodes. These will present in detail the results of our mission and proclaim that “[t]he earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.”

The impact of a project of this importance is directly linked to the excellence in which we are able to produce. And to accomplish our objective with this level of excellence, we need your help! Widespread Hunger in Myanmar

From Mission to Myanmar:
A second wave of the coronavirus is hitting Myanmar, especially in Yangon where Pastor Naing lives and in Rakhine where the orphanage is located. We praise God for his protection on the church members in Yangon, but around them many are sick.

There is also a food crisis for many, especially in Rakhine because of another wave of coronavirus lockdowns. The Christians in Rakhine work day-to-day just to feed themselves, but now with lockdowns they cannot even go out to work and they have no savings.

We are trying to raise $7,000 for hundreds of Christians in Rakhine. This would cover 120 50-pound bags of rice which cost about $50 apiece as well as cooking oil and vitamins.

So please pray for our desperately needy brothers and sisters in Christ, and if God puts it on your heart, give now to help them through this crisis.

The story of Adoniram Judson’s losses is almost overwhelming. Just when you think the last one was the worst, and he could endure no more, another comes. In fact, it would be overwhelming if we could not see it all from God’s long historical view. The seed that died a thousand times has given life in Myanmar (formerly Burma) to an extraordinary movement to Christ.

The suffering of Adoniram Judson was exceeded only by his spiritual fruit. Through imprisonment, loss, and torture, God built his church in Myanmar.
