Dear Saint Andrew Family and Friends,
With great joy, our Session has decided to re-open our sanctuary for
worship beginning Sunday, July 5, 2020. Our worship time will switch
back to the 9:30 worship time.
Call to Worship will continue. People may request a recording of the
service if the call-in process proves problematic for them.
Please note that there will be a new phone number when we switch
worship times. Watch for news of the change in your weekly bulletin.
Only those who are healthy and not concerned with virus vulnerability
should attend worship in the sanctuary. If you feel sick or have a
cough, please join us by Call to Worship instead of worshipping at the
church.
As you enter and exit the church, please maintain social distancing
and wear a mask at all times inside the building. Hand sanitizer will
be available at the door.
Masks are highly recommended out of respect and love for one
another. However, if you feel that you cannot wear a mask, we ask
that you maintain the additional social distance of ten feet instead of
just six.
Bathrooms will be stocked with sanitizing wipes to clean the
surfaces between each use. Please dispose of the wipes in the
waste basket. Do NOT flush them. Assistance will be available, if needed.
Bulletins will continue to be sent out via mail and email every week.
You are welcome to bring your bulletin with you, but they will also be
available at the church. Please dispose of them properly and do not leave it in the pews.
The biggest change to our worship service will be to our music.
Science has proven that singing, even with masks, poses a great risk from
contagious disease. The small droplets produced deep in the lungs during singing are more numerous, last longer, and travel farther than the large droplets produce by the average speaking voice. Therefore, it is recommended that churches refrain singing and the playing of wind and brass instruments until a proven vaccine is available. Our Session has decided to accept this recommendation out of an abundance of caution and care for our members.

Music will continue to be part of our worship experience through instrumental performance, including Prelude, Offertory, Communion, Postlude, etc. If you or someone you know is willing to play a
musical instrument for worship that is not a wind or brass instrument, please let us know. The choir and congregational singing will resume once it is deemed safe by the scientific experts and professional music associations.
We will continue to collect tithes and offering during worship, or you may mail it in.
Sunday School is not expected to start again until September. Other programs, such as Vacation Bible School, Bible studies, and fellowship meals, are still on hold.
I continue to thank God for our church family at Saint Andrew, and His continued protection and provision for our flock. Please continue to reach out and encourage one another through calls, mail, etc. Thank you to all the elders on Session and many others for their hard work to get us through this difficult time.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
Peace be with you!
Pastor Nancy
