A Memorial Day Service of Remembrance will be held tomorrow in the parking lot at the west end of the bridge in Lehigh. It will include a reading of local residents, who served in the armed forces and those who have given their lives in the service of our country. At the end of the service, taps is played and a wreath is cast into the Des Moines River.

Former members and friends of the Boxholm United Methodist Church. I wanted to let you know that some of the church pews of the Boxholm church have come up for sale on Facebook marketplace for $100 and $125. These are being offered by the now current owners of the church and not by the Boxholm United Methodist Church nor the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church. Some members made it known to me that they were interested in having a pew, if they were to become available. They are currently being offered on Facebook Marketplace out of Boxholm.

Celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 10 with a pie with ice cream at Pilot Mound UMC from 11:30am to 1pm. Pick up a whole pie and ice cream. Pies include cherry, apple, rhubarb, peach, pecan, and more! Only while supplies last. Suggested donation is $20.

Supper plans for Saturday, May 2? Come join the Lehigh UMC for their Spring Supper & Bake Sale. Menu is Swiss steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, vegetable, salads, fresh baked rolls, pie, and drink. Adults, $15, children aged 10 and under, $8, children aged under 5 free. Baked goods are also offered for sale.

Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent and occurs on Wednesday, February 18. We will hold a service at Lehigh UMC with the imposition of ashes and holy communion at 7pm on Wednesday, February 18.
