We’re excited that our rescheduled Scholar-in-Residence Shabbat will be here before we know it, and yes, it will be well worth the wait!
We’re looking forward to welcoming Rabbi Yehoshua Grunstein as our Scholar-in-Residence for the Shabbat weekend of June 19-20.
Rabbi Grunstein, formerly the Rabbi of the Beth Israel Synagogue in Halifax, Canada, serves as Director of North America of Tzohar and Rabbi of the Beth Garden Shul in Efrat. An experienced rabbi, writer and popular lecturer around the world, he is the author of Daven Your Age, Beyond Routine, Musings of a Minyaner, and co-editor of Machzor Vechai Bahem.
Over the course of Shabbat, Rabbi Grunstein will explore timely and thought-provoking topics, including:
Sermon:
"Israel's Jewish Revival and the Post-war Future"
Kiddush Class (Ivdu Program Center):
"Who Said You're Jewish? Proving Your Judaism in 2026"
Class after Mincha:
"When Jewish Life Meets Israeli Reality: Offering Jewish Services to the Non-affiliated Israeli"
These conversations feel especially meaningful right now, rooted in Torah and closely tied to what people are actually wrestling with day to day. We’re looking forward to a Shabbat that will give us plenty to reflect on.
