We’re thrilled to welcome guest Chazzan Aviya Nachshon to Beth Tfiloh for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur! He’ll be joined by the IDF A Ca****la Choir, returning to the Dahan Sanctuary after the meaningful, uplifting, and spirit-filled davening they brought last year.

This year’s lineup, assembled and prepared by Maestro Ofir Sobol, brings together Ben Naftaly, Ariel Kirschner, Harel Koresh, and Yonatan Tal - four accomplished musicians and vocalists bringing some serious talent to our High Holiday services.

Want to meet the musicians behind the voices you’ll be hearing?

BEN was a former lead singer in the Israeli Air Force Band and has performed in numerous musical theatre productions in Israel and lent his voice to Disney films and Netflix series.

ARIEL is from Herzliya and served as a vocalist in the IDF Central Command and Education Corps military bands.

YONATAN is from Moshav Tirat Yehuda and was commander of the IDF Military Rabbinate Band under the direction of IDF Chief Cantor Shai Abramson, whom he has performed with as part of the Israel Symphony Orchestra.

HAREL is a musician and vocalist from Rehovot who served in the IDF Military Rabbinate Band, later studied composition, arranging, and conducting at the Rimon School of Music, and continues to perform and lead Shabbat programs and musical events in Israel and abroad.

The CHAZZAN was born in Israel and is the Chief Cantor of the Heichal Habanim Synagogue in Kfar Shmaryahu. He studied at the Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute under renowned cantors and maestros and previously served as a Chazan in Budapest. Aviya served as a combat soldier in the IDF’s Kfir Brigade and is a reservist. He has led services and performed at venues around the world, combining traditional Ashkenazi chazanut and choral music with contemporary Israeli song.

Our BT Sisterhood volunteers gathered this morning to start planning for another Shop ’til You Drop Boutique! 🛍️

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes before the doors open, and we’re grateful for the women who make it happen.

This year’s boutique is Sunday, October 18, from 10am–4pm in our BT sanctuary lobby.

The questions facing our community are complicated, which is why these conversations matter.

On September 23 at 7:30pm, Ambassador Ron Dermer will be at BT as part of the UNITE. LEAD. FIGHT. speaking tour. The tour brings Jewish communities together to confront rising antisemitism and anti-Zionism, strengthen Jewish identity, and think about the challenges ahead for Israel and the Jewish people.

A key architect and negotiator of the Abraham Accords, and one of the Jewish people’s most consequential diplomatic voices, Ambassador Dermer will join us for a candid conversation on antisemitism, Israel, and the challenges facing our community today.

Here’s a little peek at our guest Chazzan, Aviya Nachshon, rehearsing in Israel with members of the IDF A Ca****la Choir ahead of their return to BT for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in our Dahan Sanctuary.

Conductor Ofir Sobol, who brought the group together, is leading the rehearsals as they prepare to head to Baltimore for the High Holidays.

The group joined us last year, bringing incredible energy, beautiful voices, and so much ruach to our davening. We’re blessed to welcome them back this year and can’t wait to hear them again. 💙🇮🇱

The chagim are right around the corner, so we're getting ready with a special evening for the women of our community.

Our Pre-Chagim Women’s Night Out is Wednesday, September 2 at 7:30pm. Creative artist Leah Baron will lead us in crafting a beautiful Havdalah candle, followed by Chana Slavaticki, who will share insights to help us head into the High Holidays with a fresh perspective and some personal inspiration for the year ahead.

Light refreshments will be served.
