The JCA recently held their 2025 annual meeting. With 30 community leaders in attendance, we continue our mission of caring for our final resting places in need while we own and operate 20 local cemeteries.

Our newest acquisition was the Shaarei Tfiloh Cemetery located on Windsor Mill Road.

Special thanks to guest speakers, Matt Levinson and Isaac “Yitzy” Schleifer from Levinson Monuments and Sam Neuberger and Sean Garland from Klein Enterprises/Pardes Cemetery.

Despite the rainy weather this morning, 25+ volunteers kindly showed chesed shel emes at Hebrew Friendship Cemetery in Baltimore City. Trash and debris was collected, trees were removed and monuments were power washed and cleaned to beautify the resting place of our dearly departed.

Special thanks to Sol Levinson & Bros., Inc. for helping to organize and facilitate the morning, to Pikesville Tree Service LLC for helping cut down and remove brush and trees and RPW Renewal Pressure Washing for cleaning stones and mausoleums.

Thank you to the many volunteers who came out this afternoon to help beautify the German Hill Road Cemeteries (Tzemach Tzedek, Ohr Knesseth Israel Anshe Sphard and Hebrew Orthodox) ahead of the High Holidays later this week.

Special thank you to Levi Lowenstein from Pikesville Tree Service for bringing equipment to help remove fallen trees and brush on the grounds.

To MendySheiny Rivkin of Towson Chabad for bringing several students who helped lift overturned monuments.

To Chaim Kessler of The OCD Company for power washing Rabbi and Mrs Axelrod's Ohel as well as several other monuments.

Also to our loyal volunteers Ephey Rosenbloom, Sholom Rosenbloom, Jeremy Diamond, Samuel Esterson, Colin Fleisher, Louis Caplan and many more for all of their hard work.

NCSY Camp Sports kicked off their Chesed Week by cleaning debris from the the Hebrew Friendship Cemetery at 3600 E. Baltimore Street. Six Campers along with two Advisors led by Rabbi Dani Cooper came out in the scorching heat to restore honor to this historic Jewish cemetery.

What a meaningful day with the Jewish Cemetery Association and the many incredible volunteers who generously donated their time, energy and resources to beautify our German Hill Road Cemeteries including Tzemach Tzedek. We restored and cleaned Rabbi and Mrs A.E. Axelrod's Ohel, cut back overgrown tree growth and reset several overturned headstones. Special thanks to Pikesville Tree Service LLC who brought various equipment to assist us, Sholom Rosenbloom, Larry Franks Jeremy Diamond, Effy Rosenbloom, Levi Lowenstein, Chen Goodman, Barry Dubin.

Our next volunteer opportunity will take place on Sunday, May 19th at 12:00 pm at our German Hill Road Cemeteries including Tzemach Tzedek, 6802 German Hill Road, Dundalk, MD 21222. A flyer is below.

We will be doing a cemetery cleanup including trash removal, general maintenance and tree trimming courtesy of Levi Lowenstein and Pikesville Tree Service LLC. Cleaning supplies will be provided.

Yesterday, the Jewish Cemetery Association of Greater Baltimore along with several community volunteers gathered at the Hebrew Friendship Cemetery for our annual cleanup.

Several trash bags full of debris were collected along with overgrown tree limbs. We also cleaned the outside wall which had some graffiti on it. Families visiting their loved ones praised the JCA and the volunteers for all their hard work and efforts.

Special thanks to Sol Levinson & Bros., Inc. for their continued partnership with the JCA. Levinson's gives back to the community in so many ways and has always been there for our Jewish community when needed.

Our next Jewish Cemetery Association of Greater Baltimore (JCA) volunteer opportunity will take place on Sunday, April 14th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the historic Hebrew Friendship Cemetery located at 3600 E. Baltimore Street.

This will be a general cleanup of accumulated trash, debris and any loose branches that have fallen over the last few months. Please email me if you or anyone you know are able to participate and also feel free to share this initiative with others. Community service hours can be provided to any students in need.

Special thanks to Sol Levinson & Bros., Inc. for their continued JCA partnership and for sponsoring the necessary supplies for the cleanup.

Some of our younger volunteers spent some of their Sunday last week in such a special way.

Baltimore Chesed League - Boys Team Kineged Glass spend some quality time at the Hebrew Friendship Cemetery helping clean and maintain the grounds. It was a meaningful and learning experience for everyone.

Team David Flamm-Nationwide Agency visited the German Hill Road Jewish Cemetery and helped paint over graffiti. The team also picked up loose garbage, making a real difference in the cleanliness of the cemetery.
