Remembering 9/11: God Is Still With Us

Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced a day that changed us forever. On September 11, 2001, we watched in disbelief as lives were lost, families were broken, and our country was shaken.

But even in the middle of fear, confusion, and heartbreak, God was there.

He was there with the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away. He was there with the families waiting for loved ones who would never come home. He was there in the tears, in the prayers, in the churches that opened their doors, and in the strangers who reached out to help one another.

9/11 reminds us that life can change in a moment. It reminds us not to take our families, our friendships, or our time for granted. Most importantly, it reminds us where our hope comes from.

Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

God did not promise us a life without tragedy. He promised that we would never have to face it alone.

Today, we remember those who lost their lives. We honor the brave men and women who sacrificed so much. We pray for the families who still carry that loss. And we remember that even when the world feels uncertain, God remains faithful.

The buildings fell, but faith did not.

Lives were lost, but love remained.

Our nation was wounded, but God was still there.

May we never forget September 11. And may we never forget that through every storm, every loss, and every uncertain day, we can place our trust in a God who is still our refuge, our strength, and our hope.

A church without children is a church without a future. ❤️ That’s why at Pierson Methodist Church, we believe our children are such an important and joyful part of our church family!

We proudly welcome ALL children, and we have a wonderful Children’s Church taught by Mrs. Amy, where our little ones can learn about Jesus, grow in their faith, and have fun along the way. And yes… we even have the really good snacks! 😂🍪

Our service begins at 11:00 AM, and we would absolutely love to see you and your family there!

Come as you are. Bring the kids. Bring the joy. Most importantly, come grow closer to Jesus with us! ❤️

Sometimes the cross we’re carrying feels heavy. But the good news is, we were never meant to carry it alone. Jesus walks with us, gives us strength, and reminds us that there is purpose even in the weight we carry.

So come worship with us tomorrow! Bring your family, bring a friend, and bring that heart that could use a little encouragement.

Join us this Sunday at Pierson Methodist Church for a very special worship service featuring guest organist Peter Kinzie!

We are blessed to welcome Peter as he shares his incredible gift of music and helps us celebrate the dedication of our newly shared organ. Peter has played organs all over the world, including the famous 30,000-pipe Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia, the Great Organ at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in New York City, the organ at the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, and the historic Mighty Wurlitzer organ at the Chicago Theatre. He has even played the organ used by Mozart!
