Piedmont FUMC Mid-week Announcements May 27, 2026

Congratulations to Kerry and Candie Ledbetter on the birth of their son, Jagger Ford. Jagger was born on May 20th.

Congratulations to Horace Bramlett on his retirement from Piedmont High School and to Candy Mobley on her retirement from Piedmont Elementary School.

UMYF will not meet this evening. UMYF will also not meet for Sunday School on Sunday due to the combined service. As we look ahead to the summer months, we will no longer have our weekly Wednesday night meetings. More details will be shared about our summer activities in the coming months!

Our mission team is in need of donations for their upcoming mission trip in June. Bottled water, Gatorade (12 or 20 oz) and Powerade (12 or 20 oz) are needed. A sign-up list for additional snacks and supplies is posted outside the church office. Donations can be dropped off in the Tucker Activity Center lobby until Friday May 29th.

There will be a combined worship service Sunday at 10:00 am in the sanctuary. Our mission team will be commissioned during this service before they leave for Copperhill, TN.

Vacation Bible School will be June 8-11 (Monday – Thursday). Our theme this year is “Rainforest Falls, Exploring the Nature of God”. Help is needed for group leaders, kitchen staff, Bible stories and help wherever needed. Sign-up sheets are posted on the office windows. There is also a sign-up sheet for t-shirts on the table in the Tucker Activity Center lobby.

Michael will be attending Annual Conference at Asbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham Thursday – Saturday. He will be available by cell phone, 205-903-7459, if needed.

Our mission team is busy preparing for their upcoming mission trip to Copperhill, Tennessee on May 31st-June 5th. If you would like to support our mission team, donations of drinks, snacks, and supplies are needed. Feel free to check out the sign-up list that is posted outside the TAC office for snacks and supplies. Please contact our Youth Director, Kayla, for any questions!

Examples of items needed include:
Clorox Wipes
Paper Towels
Spray or Lotion Sunscreen
Bug Spray
Trash Bags
Slim Jim’s
Jif Peanut Butter To-Go Packets
Chips, Goldfish, and/or Cheezits
Little Debbie Sweets (Oatmeal Crème Pies, Nutty Buddy, Fudge Rounds, Cosmic Brownies)
Flavored Water Packets
Fruit (apples, bananas, cutie oranges)

Our mission team is also collecting cases of bottled water and Gatorade/Powerade (12 or 20oz). No need to sign-up for drink donations.

All items can be dropped off in the lobby of the TAC by Friday, May 29th. Fruit can be brought on Sunday, May 31st to the combined worship service. There will be a combined worship service on Sunday, May 31st at 10am in the Sanctuary to commission our mission team.

We were proud to host the annual PHS Senior Breakfast this morning! A special tradition made possible by our church volunteers. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Piedmont FUMC Mid-week Announcements May 20, 2026

Sympathy is extended to Larry and Judy Smith on the death of Larry’s brother, Elvin Smith. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 at Thompson Funeral Home followed by the funeral at 2:00.

UMYF will not meet this evening due to graduation festivities. UMYF will meet for Sunday School on Sunday from 9:30 – 10:15 upstairs in the Tucker Activity Center. As we look ahead to the summer months, we will no longer have our weekly Wednesday night meetings. More details will be shared about our summer activities in the coming months!

The annual Senior Breakfast for Piedmont High School will be tomorrow. We will need help today to decorate. Also, we start cooking breakfast at 5:00 am on Thursday, serving the food around 7:30 and cleanup at 9:00. If you are able, please come help as you can.

Our Sunday Night Bible Study will meet Sunday evening at 5:00 in the Draper Fellowship Hall. We will continue our study, “It’s A Miracle”.

On this Senior Recognition Sunday, we extend a heartfelt congratulations to all our high school seniors graduating from within our school system and surrounding communities. We are so proud of our seniors and their accomplishments! Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
