If you've ever felt uncomfortable at church, you're not alone. If you've ever been overlooked, judged, and rejected because you're not part of the cliques, you're not alone. I won't say that it doesn't hurt because it does. When people speak words of love, we want to believe their deeds will coincide. It doesn't always happen that way.
If religious people have mistreated you, I encourage you to remember how religious people treated Jesus. They wore fancy clothes and sat in places of prominence. They knew the scriptures well yet manipulated them for their purposes. Blinded by ignorance and pride, they completely missed Jesus; they missed love.
God doesn't care about what brand of clothing you wear to church or what make of car you drive to get there. He doesn't care about the width of your smile or the depth of your vocabulary. He cares about you. He cares about you, loving, praying for, forgiving, and serving others. It's my prayer, hope, and encouragement that these will be our priorities on "Church Sunday" and each day of the week.
God loves you, and so do I. It is a blessing to be on this journey with you. Thank You. God bless.
