y contiene algunos consejos bastante buenos:
• Compartir
• Juega limpio

5. Honra a tu padre y a tu madre
6. No matarás
7. No cometerás adulterio
8. No robarás
9. No darás falso testimonio contra tu prójimo

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW….
No doubt you’re all familiar with the book or poster “All I really need to know, I learned in Kindergarten”.
It was written by Robert Fulghum
and contains some pretty good advice:
• Share
• Play fair
• Don’t hit people
• Say you’re sorry when you hurt someone
• Put things back where you found them
• Hold hands
• Have warm cookies and cold milk in the afternoon
• Take naps
• Look
• Stick together
• Flush
• Never lose your sense of wonder
• Be grateful
The list is considerably longer than this one, but you get the idea. They are all actions or emotions that make sense and can easily be understood by a 5-year-old child!

God also gave His people instructions on how to live a better life. In the Old Testament, He gave the Hebrews the 10 Commandments: (Exodus 20)
1. You shall have no other gods before me
2. You shall not make for yourself an idol (or carved image)
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy
5. Honor your father and your mother
6. You shall not murder
7. You shall not commit adultery
8. You shall not steal
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, wife, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
These commandments were intended to help God’s people live in a way that would let them tell the world about their God. They did not see them as anything helpful, and they continued to rebel against God and against His commandments.

In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul wrote in his letters to the churches, how a Christian should live and what that life should contain. In the same manner, Peter also taught what traits a Christian life should contain. You’ll notice they are very similar in content!

EVERYTHING WE NEED FOR LIFE: 2 Peter 1: 5-7
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
The reason? It’s found in verses 3 & 4: His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
Verses 8 & 9: For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But, if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: Galatians 5: 22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit let us keep in step with the Spirit! Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other.
THE ARMOR OF GOD: Ephesians 6: 14-17
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

As with the 10 Commandments, the intent was not to make people miserable but rather to give honest instruction on how to live life as Jesus did and thus avoid the common pitfalls the world throws at us.
It’s hard to make the right decisions, but left to our own devices, we’ll never get past those temptations.
Only with the help of the Holy Spirit can we resist what the world dangles in front of us. By living lives that are built on Jesus Christ -- showing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gratefulness, and self control – our appetites change. Our “want to’s” change. Our “have to have it” changes. And every day it becomes easier as it becomes more and more of who we are!

“Thank You, Jesus, for telling us clearly who and what we need to be! Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and teach us to live as YOU lived. Amen”.

Solo espera y escucha a Él.

A PRAYER FOR THE DAY AUGUST 30, 2026
Instead of posting a sermon today, I wanted to share this prayer that showed up in my Facebook feed a couple weeks ago. It really touched my heart. I feel like it is something I’ve been needing for a while, so, over a period of a few days, transcribed the audio version into a readable one. This prayer is recited by Joseph Newport, but I’ve found other similar prayers since saving this one.
We all need more prayer in our lives! Not more stuff. Not more things to fill our minds and steal our time. We need sincere, earnest prayer to reset our compass so we are always looking to Jesus Christ for direction.
This prayer reminds me how much I need God in every part of me and in every part of my life! It’s a good prayer to start the day with and a good prayer to jump start a prayer life that has become frail or no longer exists!

“Heavenly Father, I come before You this morning, with a grateful heart. Thank you for the gift of life, the breath in my lungs, and the opportunity to rise again.
Under Your mercy, I acknowledge it is by Your grace that I am awake, sustained, and given another opportunity to walk in Purpose.
As this day begins, I surrender every thought, plan, and desire into Your hands. Go before me and prepare the way. Order my steps, align my decisions with Your will and guide me with wisdom that is higher than my own understanding.
Lord, I ask for Your presence to fill this day. Let Your peace rule my heart and silence every voice of fear, doubt, or confusion. When my mind feels heavy, bring clarity. When my Spirit feels tired, bring renewal. When faith feels small, strengthen it.
Cover me with Your Divine protection, shield me from harm – seen and unseen. Guard my heart from negativity, my mind from distraction, my body from weakness. Let no weapon formed against me prosper and let every plan not aligned with Your will lose its power.
Father, I ask for strength to face every challenge today. Give me patience in moments of frustration, humility in moments of success, and courage in moments of difficulty.
Help me respond with grace, speak with kindness, and act with integrity. Bless the work of my hands today. Let my efforts be productive and meaningful.
Open doors that no one can shut. Close doors not meant for me. Place me in the right places, at the right times, with the right people.

Lord, fill me with gratitude. Let me notice Your blessings…both big and small. Teach me to trust You even when I do not understand the path ahead. Remind me that You are working all things together for good.

I pray for those connected to me. Cover my family, friends, and loved ones with peace and protection. Provide for their needs. Heal their hurts and draw them closer to You.
As I step into this day, I choose faith over fear, hope over worry, and love over anger. I walk confidently, knowing You are with me, within me, and surrounding me.
Thank You for hearing my prayer. Thank You for Your faithfulness.
I commit this entire day into Your hands and trust you completely.
In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

The bible makes reference to our need for prayer, as well as the benefits we receive when we pray.
Philippians 4:6–7: Urges believers to replace anxiety with prayer and thanksgiving, promising God's peace in return.
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18: Calls for constant, joyful, and thankful ongoing dialogue with God as this is
His will.
John 15:5: Emphasizes our total dependence on Christ for spiritual fruitfulness and strength.
Matthew 26:41: Highlights prayer as a crucial defense against temptation given our human weakness.
Hebrews 4:16: Invites believers to approach God's throne with confidence to receive grace and mercy in times of need.

Additionally, Jesus Himself gave us examples of how and what to pray, such as, “The Lord’s Prayer” in Matthew 6: 9-13, and the complete chapter of John 17 which records “Jesus’ Prayer for Himself” (verses 1-5), “Jesus’ Prayer for His Disciples” (verses 6-19), and “Jesus’ Prayer for All Believers” (including us! Verses 20-26).

You may remember the old adage, “Life is fragile. Handle with PRAYER.” It’s still sound advice. And it still involves listening as well as talking! I was reminded, yesterday, that we have two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak! God may well have things to tell us, but we seldom give Him a chance to get a word in! STOP talking! Just wait and listen for Him.

Prayer should be our first defense and our first response, always! Make it a habit you teach to your kids…and theirs…and theirs!

“Thank You, Jesus, for the gift of prayer!”

CHRIST’S SACRIFICE August 23, 2026
Hebrews 10: 1-10
10 The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. 2 If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.

3 But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. 4 For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 That is why, when Christ[a] came into the world, he said to God,

“You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings.
But you have given me a body to offer.
6 You were not pleased with burnt offerings
or other offerings for sin.
7 Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God—
as is written about me in the Scriptures.’”

8 First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses). 9 Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.
10 For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

The Day of Atonement is also known as Yom Kippur, the most solemn of all the holy days celebrated by the Jewish people. The Hebrew word for “atone” means “to cover”, signifying the fact that the Old Testament sacrifices could not actually remove sins, only cover them.

On the Day of Atonement, the 10th day of their seventh month which falls in Sept or Oct of our calendar, the people confessed their sins as a nation and the high priest would enter the “Holy of Holies” – the holiest place in the Temple. It was the one and only day of the year that the high priest could enter that place. If he went in at any other time, he would be struck dead.

Leviticus 16 gives instructions for the elaborate rituals (and preparation for them) required of the high priest. He must bring a young bull for a sin offering (purifying himself and his family) and a ram for a burnt offering, and 2 goats – one of which would be sacrificed to cover the sins of the people and the other to be the “scape goat”, carrying the guilt of their sins into the wilderness.

In the verses from Hebrews 10, we see that Jesus Christ clearly understood why He had come into this world. Verses 5-7 tell us that God didn’t want animal sacrifices or sin offerings, “but you have given me a body to offer” and “I have come to do Your will, O God—as is written about Me in the Scriptures.” And, what was God’s will? Verse 10, “For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.”

Jesus cancelled the first (old) covenant in order to put the second (new) covenant into effect. The old covenant could only “cover” the sins. The new covenant REMOVES them!

Verse 12: “But our High Priest (Jesus) offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then He sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.”
He was not “sent” to be the sacrifice. He offered Himself!!

Verse 14-18: “For by that one offering He forever made perfect those who are being made holy. 15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so, For He says, 16 “This is the new covenant I will make with My people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
17 Then He says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” 18 And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.”

When Jesus was dying on the cross, He cried out, “It is finished”! What was finished? The need for more sacrifices was finished. The penalty for sin (death) was finished. The Old Covenant was finished. The need for a priest to intercede for us to approach God was finished. The guilt for our sins was finished. Jesus Christ took our place, died the death we deserved, bought our salvation with His life’s blood, and set us free from the bo***ge of sin. IT IS FINISHED! He has written on the hearts and the minds of all true believers, “PAID IN FULL”. Thank You, Jesus!

This is more than good news! This is GREAT NEWS! Let His light shine through you. Be joy-filled! Share it wherever you go!

Escuela Dominical @ 9:00 a.m.
