Psalm 34:18 reminds us that “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” Our hearts are broken in the news that our beloved friend, Rory Hiltner, is gone from us. The Bible also reminds us that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Rory is now in the presence of Jesus.

Rory served faithfully as a counselor at Superkids. She loved every child in her care. She was an example of someone who became the heart and hands of Jesus for hundreds of children placed in her care while at camp.

I can only imagine her smile as she was greeted into her eternal home. To her family, we grieve with you but also celebrate a life, well lived.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jackie Jackson. Dan and Jackie served as our first directors of food service at Superkids. Jackie was also our first on staff nurse. Jackie compassionately made every child feel loved and valued. One of my fondest memories was when Jackie would make hundreds of no-bake cookies to serve to the staff and campers. Beyond Superkids, Jackie was a loved friend and constant encouragement. We love you, Jackie. I can only imagine your smile when you walked into Heaven.

If you ever served on staff or attended Superkids as a camper, Alice Hamilton prayed for you. Alice faithfully led our prayer team for many years. Alice always had a smile, was always ready to pray, and always told us we were loved. While speaking from the platform at Superkids, I would glance towards the back of the worship center and there she would be...silently praying for me and for the hearts of the children.

Today, Alice is with Jesus. We love you, dear friend and sister.

The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 9, from 5-7 PM and one hour Thursday, prior to the service at 11 am. Services will be held at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.

At Superkids, the vision was to show God's love in every area of the ministry from when the children arrived until they went home. One of the most evident expressions of His love was in foodservice. Kathy gave her time and talents to make sure every child was well fed and treated like royalty. She was an example of a servant, a good friend, and much loved. Kathy will be missed but is with Jesus today. Our prayers are for her precious family.

The 2021 Kids Fair is in the books. We saw 100s of children over the 2 days.

We were blessed by this text we received from the parent of the girl that won a bike in our raffle.
