Sanctified Art team member Rev. Hannah Burge Sachs has written two beautiful prayers in honor of Father's Day.

"On this Father’s Day, we give you thanks for the holy gift of fathering. We praise you for the fathers and father figures who have reflected something of your own fierce goodness in our lives: for fathers who showed up, listened, learned, and apologized; for fathers who packed lunches, changed diapers, coached teams, read stories, told terrible jokes, sat in hospital rooms, and prayed for us in secret. We thank you for the grandfathers, uncles, brothers, teachers, mentors, pastors, neighbors, and friends whose love has helped others become more fully alive.

God, we celebrate the sacred variety of your households of grace: for adoptive fathers, foster fathers, stepfathers, single fathers, trans fathers, q***r fathers, chosen fathers, spiritual fathers, and all who offer care beyond the world’s narrow boundaries. Bless every family whose beautiful shape is questioned or misunderstood; where love is present, let no one mistake difference for lack. Teach us again that your love spills beyond every boundary we try to draw and that children thrive under many holy combinations of care. Bless every person who has nurtured a child with tenderness, patience, and sacrifice."

Inspired by images of nurturing in Scripture, we’ve created these special prayers for you to use in, or adapt for, your faith community this Father’s Day. We understand there are a variety of experiences in relation to parenting, yet we hope these prayers are meaningful for most contexts.

Our dear CRE, Liz Tietz, being honored by Granville Presbyterian Church

As Granville Ecumenical VBS entered its 45th year, our very own Liz Tietz, the organizer and co-founder of VBS many years ago, was honored 🌳

Liz reflected on her favorite highlights, including the building of the “Tabernacle,” VBS’s float in the July 4th parade one year, and breakfast on the beach of Lake Hudson. And of course the song, “Pharaoh, Pharaoh” which has been sung every year.

Abundant thanks to Mike Flood and the Albyn’s nursery for picking out an planting the right tree between the four corners, and of course to Liz, for sharing her gifts of creativity, faith, energy, and love.

🎒👕 Back-to-School Clothing Assistance Available! 👕🎒

Applications for the Charity Newsies Back-to-School Clothing Program are now open!

This program helps ensure that children have the clothing they need to start the school year with confidence and success. Families interested in applying should do so as soon as possible, as applications will be accepted through July 17 or until all available spots have been filled.

Schools Out for Summer! But time to start stocking up for next school year. This year we committed to purchase crayons 🖍️ , colored pencils ✏️ , and water colors 🎨 . Crayola is the preferred brand by art teachers.
During June we’ll be collecting supplies and monetary donations to help the district welcome students with new school supplies. We can purchase crayons for $1.17 ea., colored pencils for $.31 ea, and watercolors for $.78 ea. donating one of each is $2.25 total.

We are happy to announce that it is time! Pool Passes and Back to School Applications will be open starting June 1st!

For pool passes, please bring your photo ID, proof of residency and proof of all children in the household to Fairfield County 2-1-1 office between 9am and 3pm. Pool passes are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST so don't wait to come down!

For Back-to-School clothes, you can apply at the same time, or the applications will be available starting June 1st. This year applications will only be accepted via online submission or in office.
