🎄✨ The City of Pickens is excited to announce the 2026 Pickens Christmas Parade! ✨🎄

Mark your calendars for Friday, December 4, 2026, at 7:00 PM as downtown Pickens comes alive with the sights, sounds, and spirit of Christmas.

This year’s parade theme is: An Appalachian Christmas

The theme celebrates the warmth, heritage, music, craftsmanship, natural beauty, and close-knit community spirit of the Appalachian region we are proud to call home. Parade entries are encouraged to draw inspiration from mountain traditions, handmade holiday decorations, old-time music, evergreen forests, cozy gatherings, and the joy of Christmas in a small Appalachian town.

Businesses, churches, schools, civic organizations, performance groups, families, and community groups are invited to begin planning their entries now. Parade registration information will be shared soon, with the entry deadline set for Monday, November 23.

Make plans to bring the whole family downtown for floats, marching bands, music, lights, Santa Claus, and a wonderful evening of hometown Christmas memories in Pickens!

🐐 Pickens’ Newest City Employees Have Four Legs and Eat Kudzu

There are approximately 25 goats from Double E Farms at the Pickens Amphitheater, taking on a very important assignment: eating their way through the kudzu and vegetation on the hill behind and beside the amphitheater.

They’ll be on the job for the next couple of weeks—or until the kudzu learns who is really in charge.

The goats are inside a temporary electric fence, and signage is posted around the area. Please enjoy our new four-legged landscaping crew from a safe distance. The goats are friendly, but the fence is not.

Double E Farms will check on and water the goats daily, so they should have everything they need and no reason to begin exploring downtown Pickens.

If you have a concern involving the goats, please contact Double E Farms directly:
