We'll be in Exodus 20 next week to align with Pentecost, perfectly aligned and completely unplanned. Last year we celebrated with a message from Acts 2; this year we will look at the day from the other side in Exodus 20. Come see the contrast between the law and the Spirit.

Congratulations to Mark, Racinda and Brooke beresford in following the Lord in Believers Baptism!

¶Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (2 Peter 1:2-3)

The Greek word translated "hath given" is in the perfect tense designating completion with a continuing result. You already have everything necessary for a successful Christian life through knowing Christ. I don't think it's a mistake that this same chapter tells us if the origin of the Scriptures whereby we can know Him.

Does God speak to you? How often have you heard someone say God told them something? How can one be 100% certain God told them something? Especially since we are so vulnerable to a deceitful heart.

This is why I'm glad that in the very same chapter as the verses I posted above Peter tells us that we have a more SURE word of prophecy. This means you can know 100% God has spoken to you through His word. The Bible makes it clear that not only is it the most reliable source of knowing God's will but also that it is everything we need for a successful Christian life. This means we don't need to strive for extra revelation from God or run the risk of falsely claiming God said something that He actually didn't.

Christian, if you aren't putting in your best effort to know the Bible better you are neglecting the most sure way you have available to hear from God. This is applied in not having personal study time in the Bible and neglecting church services and Bible studies where the word is preached and taught. Preachers and teachers are gifts God gave to the church to better equip believers to know and follow God's will. No one became a better disciple, teacher or preacher without submitting themselves to the study, preaching and teaching of God's word. I hope you will be seen with the gathering of the saints tomorrow.

So much fighting over the shadows while ignoring the real thing...what really matters.

Colossians 2
16¶Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17Which are a SHADOW of THINGS TO COME; but the body is OF CHRIST

Hebrews 8
For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: (He isn't offering gifts, He is the gift)
5Who serve unto the example and SHADOW of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
6But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises

Hebrews 10
For the law having a SHADOW of good THINGS TO COME, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect....

9Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of JESUS CHRIST once for all

THINGS TO COME:
Revelation 21
22¶And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

It's not supposed to be about a land or a building or specific days or rituals and ceremonies but acknowledging, glorifying and pointing others to Him. Don't worry about a building in Jerusalem (Jewish, Muslim or Christian) but rather what is built on the Temple mount of your heart.

God doesn't take sides, that's why Jesus said, "Lest ye repent ye shall all likewise perish". He doesn't care about your nationality or religion. He cares about your heart.

What land, what building, what religion, what denomination? It's irrelevant in the big picture (in light of the New Jerusalem). What matters is who you say Jesus is to you.

Side note:
Who could have predicted that Jesus would be crucified on the same mountain that God provided a ram (lamb) in Isaacs stead thousands of years prior? Were the Roman authorities trying to fulfill prophecy or is God showing sovereignty?
