For over 7 years, UnitePHX has opened opportunities for those with a heart to serve others to encounter Jesus in ways they may not have been afforded to otherwise. Volunteers pushed outside their comfort zones, forged new relationships, even got dirty with clean-up projects in an effort to serve some of this city’s most special organizations. God has truly shown off over the past decade and recounting all His blessings toward UnitePHX and those who are a part of it is our greatest joy! Earlier this week, the founders of UnitePHX and its advisory board agreed that continuing on in its current state as a 501(c)3 was no longer needed. Monthly serve events as well as other functions will be discontinued. All of our amazing non-profit partners continue to live out God’s mission for them and will continue to need your support! It has truly been an honor to serve alongside each of you and we cannot wait to see what God has in store for the days to come. God bless you and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

2023 Christmas in Phoenix Toy Drive was a massive success! Our theme this year was grateful and I know hundreds of kids definitely showed that this morning at the Christmas in Garfield event. We are so grateful for everyone who supported these efforts this year. Toy donations are being given out at White River on Apache Land today and more will be going out next week at an event in Mesa. Thank you for another great year of giving!

If you are a new around here and wondering what this toy drive is all about and where the toys are going …

It started out 20 + years ago in a park in downtown Phoenix. 8 years ago it moved over to Garfield Elementary and became Christmas in Garfield. Last year it expanded to multiple Christmas events happening simultaneously at Title 1 Elementary schools in and around the Phoenix area.

On top of that, toys are going up to children in the Native Nations in Northern AZ, a school in Rwanda, Refugee children living in the valley, and to other non-profit organizations focused on helping young people experiencing need.

Every toy goes out to kids who may not be receiving a gift this year if not for YOUR generosity.

Next Saturday 11/25 - We have two toy drop off locations at some really fun local events.

Phoenix Flea . Downtown Phoenix. 10-5. $5 admission. Boxes will be at the entrance.

Hobby Action RC Raceway. Chandler. 10-5. Free race entry with a new, unwrapped toy.
We will be grilling hot dogs at this event. Donations go to purchasing more toys.

Both of these businesses have helped collect thousands of toys over the past several years for children in need.

Please come out and support. The children receiving these donations look forward to this event every year. For some, it may be the only gift they receive this year.

This is our new friend Gama. He has been attending UnitePHX since he arrived in Arizona from Kenya back in August. Him and a dozen other of his GCU seminary classmates from Kenya, Ghana, Malawi, and Sierra Leone are needing laptops to be able to complete assignments over the next few years. & blessed our friend here with a much needed laptop to use for school and ministry. If you or someone you know is able to help the other students, please send us a message. 💛

This morning we celebrated 7 years! We also started wrapping Christmas boxes for the annual toy drive. It was an exciting day! Thanks to everyone who came out to serve at the 3 different sites.

UnitePHX begins a new chapter with “UnitePHX Direct” events! Volunteers can now go directly to the serve site and with a new start time of 10am. Teri Vogel, the founder of Thrive AZ, tells ABC15 she was volunteering at the Phoenix Dream Center when the idea for her Phoenix-based non-profit came to life.

Today was hot at UnitePHX… but on the way back from Jumpstart a few of the guys from Africa spoke how today they felt they were at home. Serve events like today resemble every day life for them. Love this new dynamic at our serve events and can’t wait till next month!
