Today, Aug. 18, we celebrate the Feast of St. Helena, a central figure in Crosier history. She was the mother of Emperor Constantine. According to the legend, she found the True Cross. The Crosiers give St. Helena an important role not just in finding the Cross, but in establishing the Order itself. As a result, she is a patroness of the Crosiers. She died around 330. We also remember on this day the anniversary of the death of our founder Blessed Theodore de Celles, who died in 1236.
